zeebill wrote:Enemy at the Gates was so embelished by Hollywood additions if compared to the truth (according to the Russians) it barely compares to what actually happened. Typical thing about Hollywood making a "True" story according to their standards they stretch the truth so far it is paper thin. Shame we can't just be entertained by what actually happend, I think that says something about our society today. :o Bill
Hollywood really did in "The Memphis Belle" almost sickening.

Along with good motion pictures ,good books of Russian Military action are" War of the Rats" about Vasily Zahsev," The Sniper" by James Riordan's novel of Tania Chernova, and "Four Steps To Death" by John Wilson the story of Yelena Pavlova at The Battle of Stalingrad . Also Tom Clancey has a book out called "The Bear and the Dragon" a story of a Chinese General during the invasion of Russia by the Chinese . A good sniper story. JGC

Let me make a short, open, blanket comment. There are no good guns. There are no bad guns. Any gun in the hands of a bad man is a bad thing. Any gun in the hands of a descent person is no threat to anyone--- except bad people. -- Charleton Heston

Guns are not good, they are not evil. Save those descriptions for the people holding the firearm. -- Unknown

I found Zulu in the dollar bin once, that's the story of the fight for Rorke's drift, British Army, great story of a few well armed and trained men fighting off thousands of enemy.
