You wanted to know about the rifle so I told you, I was going to show a pic of it, but now you will just have to wait
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

First I got to find the pics, the ones from back in the dial up days aren't on photobucket, they are on CD's. The CD's aren't labeled and there are maybe 30 of them in a box. It could take some time before I find it.

Man, that's a great looking ex, Looks like a good bore too. Is it Import marked? I wonder who would have put the sight on it! Intersting that the patina looks like it matches too. Done at refurb? Hmmmm.

It is import marked with the old Century tiny marking by the muzzle, this one was refurbished in the USSR and has the typical metal refurb mark, but none can be seen on the wood, it was then reissued back into the field. I strongly suspect Romania as the source for these rifles, I have a dozen similar ones, the repairs to the stocks look similar to ones I have seen on known Romanian used rifles. The bore is good, these pics were taken minutes after it came out of the box, you can see the axle grease the rifle was stored in. Pat Burns was selling these about five years back, she may have some left, but I have not seen similar ones offered lately. These are the no shellac left, and worn bluing rifle with no cleaning rods.
