Is Vic good enough?

The link does not seem to go to any statement by Vic about these rifles.

Vic's been in this game long enough to know the real thing, or so I am told, I do not know Vic personaly.

My own suspicion is that these will be another bunch of fakes, I have had it up to here ( holds hand to top of head) with all this PU sniper shit. I personally never liked the PU, I hate it's scope, and mount design having been completely spoiled by having used fine western optics for a lifetime. The 91/30 infantry rifle has some of the best iron sights I have ever used on a rifle, and that is how I prefer to use them. Owning the real thing because it is an important piece of WW2 history, or Cold War history I can understand, even spending real money to own one for that reason. A fake has no history, so buying one implies that someone is willing to drop the cost of a good commercial sporter to own one as a shooter, and that boggles my mind as there is no rifle I would like as a shooter less.

My Savage 110 ? Yes probably, a fake f***in' PU ? It would be easier to just walk up and beat the thing to death with the buttstock.

Correct. Nice steel plate to bash brains. Kill a brain, kill a ghoul.

Save $450 for Zombie extermination purposes and pick up a '42 Izhevsk round receiver refurb.

I've seen about three RGUNS snipers bought in the last month. The rumors they are running out have been going for a couple years now. It's just that a rumor. No one knows exactly how many they still have. It could be they are running low, but how can you know, RGUNS will not say.

That base looks exactly like the bases on the reproductions.

I wonder if this Molot bought exsnipers or what ever and put "real parts" on them? Then turns around and sells them to IO who imports them and AIM buys them?

I keep hearing about this "expert" they supposedly have had look at them, but you never get to hear his name....??? You have to hold one in your hand to know for sure, any thing less than that is not of any value.

Time will tell. Like the ATI rifles. I'm still not convinced on that one. Too many snipers coming out of Russia these days. Makes me uncomfortable.

Trust AIM? I don't think so. They are the ones who started selling the fakes and worded so they confused new collectors.

When I get to see one, then maybe I can tell.

Also, they are sold out already. They couldn't have had many in stock!

I am waiting for a visit from a friend to get his opinion. I know the scopes are real as I had a pu optic collector come in and take a look. I know the have scope #s on the barrel shanks, I know they are all the correct years, and all are hi walls, I know that the Tulsa have ch or cII on them, I also know some have post war stocks, and regular sears, so they have obviously been re-furbed. The Tula guns have #s on the barrel shanks which I hear means they were refurbed....but thats all I know.

All the Ukrainian fakes were not marked on the shank, and we're a mix of hexs and years that's we're not snipers, so those are the fake snipers we all know of

Should know more next week

Welcome to the forum, No idea if you have sold fake snipers or not Bryan, you never sold me any snipers, I never cared for the things and wouldn't know a fake from a real others will have to comment on that, you did however sell me some fine Finn's and a pile of refurb M38's, M91/30,s, probably some other things I am forgetting.

Now that we have you here, can you clear up the questions that seem to be around these PU's you have for sale? Who did the authentication, are they real Soviet issued, or refurbished 91/30 PU snipers? Decommissioned PU snipers that were put back together with new scopes and mounts? Outright new manufactured commercial sporters made in the pattern of a Soviet 91/30 PU sniper?

While I have you here, thank you for the 1933 Tula Finn capture you sold me in 2006, and the M38's as well as the Yugo SKS, all very nice rifles, still have them all, and wish I had bought more of them back then. Oh yea, I forgot the Swiss K31 with walnut stock, that is one nice looking rifle.

Oh, you replied as I was typing, never mind the questions above.

Welcome Bryan. As you likely already know, the best advertising possible for your product is right where collectors congregate - right here, and a few other forums with a special focus on Mosin Nagants. So, when a visit from a "friend to get his opinion" is mentioned, it's going to be very helpful to serious collectors to know who that friend is, and his credentials for verifying Sniper authenticity. Any light that can be shined on that subject would be a plus.

Meanwhile, it's watch and wait, at best, for a guy like me.

these came out of Russia, the original story was these were in police hands and then put into storage (heard that from a rival importer, he also told me they were real). they were taking from storage, and boxed, cleaned, inspected for sale. The original plan when these were suppose to be in 6 months ago, was to have Vic inspect them, but he is not currently available. so at this point, not sure what to do, BUT we still have to box all our M44s, so these wouldn't even make it to the top of the heap till mid week. We do know they have been re-conditioned though,

IIRC that was the origin of the R-Guns imports a few years ago. Refurbished by the military and stored after the war. Used by police, then sent back to the military, who refurbed them again and stored them until sold.

they can't come out of Russia... Unless it's classified as a new gun. I wonder what the requirement is for it to be considered "NEW"?
