Nice one  I have a Springfield NM. and I love it. It was my first Issue weapon in the Army
back in 1961. Once you get the hang of field strip it a few times it is not that hard. It is a great weapon
and you will get some great groups with it. It gets a little expensive to shoot but it is not a rifle you be
plinking with. Good luck with it. I am very :D :D :D :D :D for you

I used to plink with one, a nicely worn Korean bringhome with a big BLUE SKY import stamp hammered into the barrel, and some crap OJP headstamp Austrian ammo I got for next to nothing, hell the rifle was $175 , used to bounce tin cans way up if you caught them just right :) That rifle is useless at long range, but it passed headspace so I figured to get some fun out of it. Least expensive Garand I ever bought, but it has a nice Springfield WW2 receiver, good parts and a shot out barrel, today they sell for $600 like that on GB if you can find one.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Nice. Nothing beats firing an M1.
