Possible elk hunting trip

I have hunted deer extensively with my mosin and the Brown Bear 203 grain bullet. I can say without fear of valid contradiction that it is NOT an elk bullet. It kills a deer dead on the spot, but there's no such thing as bullet recovery. It sheds jacket and lead until nothing is left. I've never used a mosin for elk, but if I did, I'd probably try the Barnes tsx 150 grain, as it has a reputation for penetration.
