So far it's a nice representing cast for rare & uncommon. I went through all the posts so far & think the following should make a post in the Regular Mosin Nagant forum to be considered for the Showcase.

So everyone & their rifles listed below... feel free to get those nice quality pictures, a good description & post these in the regular section for us to see for voting to the showcase.

And if for some reason it doesn't get voted in... It's still great to see them.
8-)

Lafayette Gregory
really ugly black painted one with a strange rear site a T in a triangle, dated 1932 with a sa in a box on the side. This sounds interesting... I would love to see it.

MadisonAV
Finn M-91 B barrel VKT with a Liege proof stamp.
1968 M-39, No Maker, Late Date
straight stock Finn M-39

Jumperwire
Finnish M24, a Finnish P-26 or a Polish PU Sniper

Izhevsk762
1934 Izhevsk "PM-86" marked M91/30
Non-refurb, non-"D" stamped 1939 M28/30

SA1911a1
1910 Izhevsk M-91 barrel in a 1895 Tula receiver, with both logos on the barrel shank along with a Serbian property mark, in a stock with the German Deutches Reich capture mark. It has the Russian eagles pinged out, or it would be a doozy. Nothings perfect... Lets see it!

Millman
My M24, and my M91 mystery rifle. It has all of the features of a Finnish P-Series rifle, except for the P-xx mark. It also has a very low Ser.#. Oh and I have an all matching T-53.

Websterz
The 1928 Izhevsk, triple date, MO, GECO ex sniper... If you have permission from the owner, go for it.

Miller Tyme
My rarest, well that has to be my 1947 91/30, my 44 Tula hex reciever M38, and my 44 Izhevsk M38 DDR/1\ stamped. & many more I’m sure

BuckeyeSgt
1952 mint Polish M44 doesn't look to have been fired. But who knows for sure.
All matching T53 with no import marks and blood pitting. No papers however. No papers? Lets see it anyway.
A couple of triple dated 91/30s. Great collector examples & not seen often

EDIT... Some more posted while I was putting this post together.

Martin08
M1907 Carbine We have seen this one already... It's a rare model BEFORE Bubba got to it & we have discussed it already. It could cause some debate; I wish bubba never messed with it!
Japanese Single Shot Trainer (Remington) I want to see that!
(2) Polish Wz.M91/98/25 And this one too.

I would have to agree with all the above.

And...thanks for creating this thread. It's been fun, educational and interesting. It doesn't get much better :)

Wow, 3 MNs to submit. The M91 VKT B Liege showed up to day. I won't have the daylight to photograph until the weekend. I have not started to document the M39 late date. I have plenty of images on the straight stock M39. I also have a crate mate early next week. Maybe I'll submit the two in one post with a compare and contrast. I like the way you are approaching this Rongo. Good job.

Actually, I misread and had posted two rifles PU Sniper and P-26, but then realize you had asked for 3? Knowing that I could not choose between 2 M24's I opted for the 1901/1907 No1MkII. did I ever mention it had a matching clip. Kari said that was more "Uncommon" than anything.

I just updated the "Showcase" rules.

And I see Martin08 just posted in the showcase. The Japanese Single Shot Trainer (Remington) that I asked him to post. That's an odd duck for sure. :vcool: :vcool: :vcool:

I just realized I completely forgot to put the "PM-86" rifle in the showcase.

Looks like I've got a few pictures to take, plus some of the 28/30...

I don't think any of mine are really rare since they are all Russian refurbs, but I'll throw in these just for the hell of it. The '36 Tula, because I'm told that was the last year they made a hex receiver and the M38 because you just can't seem to find many these days.

I didn't get in on this the first go around!

Well, I went to look and see what was the rarest I had and was surprised that some were marked as rarer than others, but I will put the "rarest" one up (although, I don't necessarily agree with that list).

[hr]
Finnish Capture M38, 1939 Izhevsk, second type stock, D Marked, SA Marked, 41 Marked (this one is not on the charts)

[hr]
1927 Tikkakoski (Tikka),1899 Tula Receiver, D marked on barrel, SA Marked
First Year of Production M27 (only 799 barrels were produced the first year, this is #295)

This one kind of surprised me. I didn't know a 1927 M27 rated a 9 in rarity

[hr]

Well, for the last, Although a M39 PL is not that rare (a little), nor is a straight stock M39. But maybe a PL marked straight stock is a little tougher to find.

M39, 1941 Puolustuslaitos marked on the barrel, straight stock, 1894 Chatterault receiver

[hr]

Here is my rarest Mosin....My "first Mosin".
1937 M91/30 (Must be a -1 on the rarity chart!, but the only "first Mosin" I own)

Go to 7.62's rarity chart. I don't always agree with it, but it's a starting place. I'd say your M39 SA marked is right up there.

I've got that one in the showcase of course. My 3 PL marked rifles are pretty uncommon, and I have a 1969 M39 and a VKT/B/Liege proofed M91. None come close to my M28/30 in the showcase though.

Dolk,

Spent a lot of time with Ted, and lots of these things just don't show on the chart. I had the rarity chart almost memorized a few years ago, and he doesn't really update it anyway. Good place for those really branching out.
