Those things are just wrong. I prefer the old neck snappers myself. Not sure I'm ready to shoot mice with my Mosin yet. :?
I use sticky pads, tack them down so the vermin can't drag it off, they work in tight areas. I will use any and all means at my disposal to eradicate the enemy.

I have 3 furball ouse catchers. They all try and outdo each other by bringing their kills to show me their hunting skills. I have learned to look down when getting out of the shower and always open my eyes slowly upon waking to check what is on my pillow.

Tiger is a mouse disemboweler, he leaves the parts outside. Once years back I had a cat bring in a bat, a live bat, that was fun.

I have heard this before about the sheets, has anyone stopped to wonder what chemicals are in that sheet to cause the bloodsuckers to flee in terror?
I would try it save for the fact that dryer sheets cause me to break out in hives. :beek:

I had one of my old Toms bring a live rabbit in the house once for entertainment. It was the party of the year. :angry4:

I knew it. I knew if I started a thread about shooting a mouse through the vitals, and posted his bloody picture, that the thread would eventually turn to food!

I'm amazed that JYD hadn't brought up SPAM yet. Foul stuff, that. :vomit1:

What kind of Spam would you like to talk about? I have five different kinds right here, sorry six, I forgot the black pepper spam. There are worse things than Spam, bully beef had to be worse, it was mostly horse, or whatever animal was available. How about hardtack crawling with weevils? They ate it in the dark so they couldn't see what they were eating.

The kind I ate unheated (not raw) thinking it would be a step up from eating decaying shad. Biiiig mistake. So I guess original flavor, or "everything in it but the squeal".

It's now available in a spreadable form around here.

It's all original flavor, they just add a hint of something else be it bacon, or pepper, even Garlic, but in truth these add in's can only be lightly tasted. Spam is fully cooked in the can, but it is best fried up, and not eaten all at once. One of the reasons why Spam is a good emergency ration is that many do not care for it, therefore it will likely not be consumed by snackers and will be available for use when it's truly needed. Why were you contemplating eating rotten fish? That would have serious consequences, if suicide was the object take pills, it's easier. I like my Spam fried crispy, almost crunchy, and thin sliced. I also dice it up and use it in place of pork when making split pea soup in the slow cooker.

Suicide?! No, I've got too much to live for to die now! I just said that to describe how hungry I was, a little touch of hyperbole. The fish really WERE bait. Spam was too, after my experimental taste was "blown overboard".

Only had a pinch of it straight out of the can, I probably would like it fried, with eggs, bacon, sausage, bologna, biscuits, pancakes, grits (it's corn grist, water, and butter, JYD)… Then again my family fries everything. I mean everything. Cornbread, fried x, vegetables, and brown gravy. Well, mostly everything.

In place of pork? Throw in some fatback, or bacon, in addition to the spam.

I saw Uncle Vinnie, I know what Grits are :chuckles: Deep fried veggies? Sounds good, Someone told me about deep fried butter, I want to try it but do not own a deep fry pot and nobody makes it around here. The only things I can get fried are potatoes and chicken, some guy once tried to deep fry a Turkey but set his house on fire instead, now we can't play with big outdoor deep fry gizmos anymore. Butter wrapped in bacon breaded and deep fried, then served with gravy :Drool1: :Drool1:

Only veggies we fry are potatoes and Okra. Not deep fried, pan fried, like fish should be. Might be called "Southern Fried" in NY. Cast iron skillet, Wesson oil (for JYD, pure lard), breaded chicken. Fry, flip, fry, eat.

Okra is not congealed slime disguised as a sweet pepper.

Slice it, cornmeal it, fry it until dark brown to sporadically black. Should be crunchy. If too crunchy, cook less.

EDIT: My Cousin Vinny is NOT an accurate representation of Alabama. It's hyperbolic. Funny though.

This thread reminds me of our times at Dedcat's Shooting Emporium™. Dedcat's German Shepard chased a chipmunk into an old shed full of glass & the dog cut up his paws very bad... Damn near bled to death. So the next shooting session he declared all chipmunks are to be terminated on site. They really were becoming an infestation at that point. I was shooting the Mauser at targets & saw one of those little guys pop it's head up about 30 yards off to the side. I swung fast, touched off the trigger & be-headed the little guy. Got two more head shot kills in short succession at even farther distances while Dedcat & Entropy couldn't hit a few slow ones just a few feet away. :chuckles:
