My Birthday Gift

If it fires black powder, it is discussed here.

The only problem with loads so light that you have to use more than one lubed wad is that the wads cost about 8-10 bucks for a pack of 100. Good luck finding the powder and primers. At this point I would shoot real black, or Pyrodex or whatever I can find. If you can order from Grafs.com the hazmat fee is worth paying because their powder is at least 10.00 cheaper per pound than I have found locally, so if you get at least 3 items you can come out just fine.
Beautiful revolver and kit. Congrats.

http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/pro ... uctId/5405 for powder. Good price. I paid 30 for one pound recently.
Darn, they are out of percussion caps.

Powder I can get locally, caps I cannot, and when you add a $27.50 Hazmat fee a $5.99 box of caps starts to get real expensive. This gun is only a toy, it's meant for nothing more than fun at the range, I'll just wait until I can find caps locally. Then I'll buy a shit-ton of them.

The little Mosin cleaning kit pouches make good carry bags for caps, patches and bullets.

I can't believe how much trouble we are having getting basic components. If we think this is bad, we better get in gear on the next election. If the liberals put Hillary Clinton in the White House then we ain't seen nothing yet.

Found one box of CCI #11s at a hole-in-the wall gun shop I had heard about but never been to. I'll definitely be going back, they have a very impressive collection of used guns! http://trailcreektrade.com/

Let me make a short, open, blanket comment. There are no good guns. There are no bad guns. Any gun in the hands of a bad man is a bad thing. Any gun in the hands of a descent person is no threat to anyone--- except bad people. -- Charleton Heston

Guns are not good, they are not evil. Save those descriptions for the people holding the firearm. -- Unknown

Range time tomorrow, I'm looking forward to this! The cylinders are loaded and in my range box, all the caps have been ovaled so they'll stay on when I put them on the nipples tomorrow. I'll try and get video. :D

Don't be surprised if a fired cap fall off and jams up the works a bit sometimes, it happens, happened back in the day also. Just part of doing business with caps.

 Has happened to me a couple of times too. I pinch them a little so they fit on tight and that has helped a lot. Might need to shake some of the remnants of the fired ones out of the works too. :D

They are copper so they don't gum things up too badly, I think I read someplace that the original caps were slightly thicker, and better fitted than todays.

What happens is that when they are fired, they often split and fall off as you cock the revolver, and sometimes get in the rotating cylinder.

At seven yards I shot about a 2" group centered about 2" high and right, my wife did the same. I can either modify the front sight or just learn where to aim to hit what I want. :D

As for how it shoots, it sounds and feels like a real big cap gun, no recoil to speak of but it makes a nice deep boom and a big hole in the target.
