I've got to say, the mosin gods are smiling on the members this week. Fantastic rifle!

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I was thinking after reading that you paid a lot of money for that and then I looked at it and was blown away. I have one in the safe and it hasn't seen the light of day since I bought it many years ago nor ever been shot either. I checked the old book to see what I paid for it years ago and it was dam near exactly what you paid for it only I bought mine on Gun Broker. Guess I should say at least congrats and good buy Huh? Bill

Darker stocks are far more common, these were reused stocks after all.

I have the "triplet" sister to those two rifles.

One thing I noticed is that the sling slots are blued.

On the M91/59's and M38, and M44 they are not.

They would have had to take them out to blue them, probably not easy to do, shows how they went a step beyond the normal refurb with these.

Here is my 1897 dated Tula 91/38 Carbine! Non import marked and numbers matching except for electro penciled bolt and magazine body both being Ishevsk. Will shoot just under 2 inch group at 100 yards with hand loads and iron sites! You have to see the bore on this rifle! It's the best bore I've ever seen on a Mosin or any surplus rifle!
