1941 Finn [SA] Izhevsk 91/30

Post by dou44 »

This is a Finnish capture 91/30 [SA] with D stamp with a spliced 2-piece tiger stripe stock. The stock is the early type with the sling slot escutcheons with screws. The bolt has a forced matched serial # on the body. Most Finn capture rifles tend to have mix-matched floorplates and buttplates. The Finn's entered the war with Russia in mid 1941 and rifles will have the [SA] property mark in a box that was introduced in 1942,this mark is for the Finnish Army. Another mark found on them is the D stamp showing it has been reworked for the D166 cartridge as this one does have both. Some rifles will also have Civil Guard number's stamped on the barrel and receiver. Another interesting thing is that they did not make any receivers but instead purchased or utilized captured rifles & then reconfigured them into functional rifles.
