There is a wicked nice M39 over on GB that is currently selling north of $ 1,000.00!

Nice rifle that is for sure, but man oh man are the prices heading up! Looks like Elvis is back and bidding.

I just watched a ordinary 1893 Turk Mauser sell for dam near $300, over that with shipping, so little is likely to surprise me on GB tonight. I didn't pay that for my RC K98k!

We can talk about it but no direct links to active auctions. thank you for honoring that. I personally think these auctions are out of hand... I could think of many other things to spend that kind of money on. :no2:

I can start with new rear cab mounts for the truck, then have more than enough left over for a couple cases of ammo and some bacon.
What is it? A sniper, or straight stock Tikka?

I have been telling you guys that people with little knowledge of collecting and very little common sense are heading our way to find areas to invest their money as the market gets soft and returns get smaller. They are not collectors but they have money and they want to hide it or foolishly invest it in collector rifles. We are going to see more and more of them according to my buddy who is a personal investment counselor. He asked me if I wanted to be his paid reference man for gun investments and I defered quickly! I really need something like that to drive me crazy in my retirement?!%$# Yeah sure Steve I will start some Sunday in the middle of the week. There is a market out there for refinshed, reblued, restocked, restored, and God knows what done to Frankenstien rifles out there much as we detest them these folks like them and pay ridiculously high amounts for them. Myabe their stupidity will make an after market to resell them I don't know? The average buying public today is downright stupid and yeah in certain areas I probably fit right in there too! That creates chances for Barnham like sellers to get rid of things at very high profit margins. I just hope none of us fall for these things and get burned! Like the song Beer is Good! God is Great! and People are crazy! Bill

My Civil Guard M39, a 1944 Sako cost around two hundred bucks. I know the type, the money investor with no brains, anyone who is in the antique car life knows what happened in the mid 2000's when the car market went insane. Most of those assholes lost their shirts when the market collapsed in 2008. The guy across the street from me was one such, I watched him roll in one car after another for two years in the mid 2000's, paying top dollar for cars that weren't in that condition but had been quickly patched up to look that way to the uninformed. Now he is trying to sell them all and having no luck getting back his money, something around several million dollars. I could care less, he is a member of an organized criminal organization that shall remain nameless, so the money was dirty anyway, and sooner or later he will get righteously busted for something.
In ten years we will see these same "investors" desperately trying to get their money out of the ordinary rifles they spent a fortune on and we can take advantage of the fire sale prices. Any idiot knows that you stick to Colt SAA'a and Winchester lever rifles if you want to invest serious money in the firearms collection market.

I saw that. I almost sent the guy a message asking him what he was thinking.

Someone should get on the horn and let the idiot know that with the M44 the bayonet is part of the weapon, not a separate piece.

You're neighbors with Eric holder?

When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work, because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work, because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation!
