Target Results
Finally got a chance to take the Mosin out back and give it a small work out. Started off with my Henry 22, then the AK just trying to get up the nerve to shoot what I thought was going to be a kicker. Surprise is not the word, smooth solid push and with ear muffs I didn't even hear the shot. Target shows my first shot and you could tell I did the flinch, after the first shot it was great.

Re: Target Results
Good shooting, that first shot would still have had the Nazi wearing his insides on the outside

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Thanks for the flowers and all, I have one tree in the back I really don't like and between myself, my son and grandson we are doing all we can to kill that thing. Right now it must have around 40-50 pounds of lead thru the base. Range was around 45-50 yds, would have went for longer range but daughter-in-law's cats were out in force and didn't want to hit one by accident. I did have to make a small adjustment so I could see the sights way out there on the end of barrel. Used correction fluid to whiten up the sight, I have done this on several since my eyes don't see like they did 40 yrs ago. Don't have a large cache of 7.62x54R now but I do intend to find a place to get bulk ammo but at same time want ammo that is worth shooting.

Re: Target Results
Years ago after a good friend of mine convinced me to "Reload" my own I had no knowledge that different shells would shoot different in each gun. I have a .380 that I like to carry, when test firing it for the first time I used Cheap ammo, shots were all over the target, loaded up with Critical Defense ammo and started shooting target groups the size of a half dollar. I don't have any desire to start loading my own ammo again but I do like to experiment.desdem12 wrote:Have never met ammo i don't like to shoot

Re: Target Results
I know what your saying about being a little leary of the first shot. I recently had shoulder surgery and was not sure what it would feel like to have the recoil so I started with some reloads which are light target loads in my 30-30 them moved up to the 7.62x54R an it didn't bother me one bit and it is a hoot to shoot.
