Russian Video about the 1891/30 rifle

Post by Hombre »

I came across this video this morning and although it is in Russian thought it was interesting to watch.

Some of the features I noticed:

It has some nice cross section views of the rifle.
Examples of how Mosin Nagant is pronounced.
Shows cartridges being pushed into magazine from clip using thumb only - none of that lifting up of the tip of the top cartridge that some advise doing.

This computer crashes with videos, I will watch it tonight when I am home :) Be a nice change from all the Mob movies I have been watching this week.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Thanks! Wish I spoke Russian. The clip of factory production was my favorite part.

did you all notice that one guy semi cock the safety before rechambering a round? possible sticky fix?

Yeah I saw that and wondered why he did that. Did you see the rifle numbered No.1? I can only imagine what that rifle would be worth now. Hopefully it still exsists in it's original condition. Thanks for sharing this Hombre. It's nice to see a video that concentrates on the actual firearms. I mean you get a chance to actually see details instead of quick passes over them like in most war time footage. When I was watching that seeing all these rifles I couldn't help but wonder if I wasn't seeing one of the rifles I have on the walls here. Really gets you thinking.

Nice video. Makes you wonder if maybe your M91 or M44 was in that video. We can always fantasize.

Here is another on in Russian but has quite a bit of footage showing Mosin Nagants in action including some sniper shots.

I went back and watched that part again. He was able to flip the bolt up with just a finger after that..
