I've been looking at the same thing this week, sold a truck and need to buy a gun before the wife hits the mall. This is the one i've about settled on. CHeaper then building one.

I figure the 20 is just as much of a hassle to clean and maintain as a 16, but a little heavier barrel and the extra length will reach out further and tighter.

With these ARs my feeling is the more you read reviews the less likely you are going to get one and just shoot it. The nuanced differences won't be seen by most folks, unless your competition shooting for a living.

Nothing wrong with the longer barrel, mine has never been a problem to clean.

Hey dou44, where did you get your triangular hand guards? Do they fit into any rifle length AR upper or are special parts needed? The reason that I ask is because I am looking into a retro build. I love the classics!

I am no expert, but I think if you have a long enough barrel, they will fit.
