Venezuelan m24/30 Target Mauser.

Post by brodydog »

My new addition (besides the FN49 Sniper).
this is a Venezuelan m24/30 Target Mauser.
extra long 27 1/2" barrel w/ a target rear sight adjustable for windage & elevation.
these were used for the Olympics i believe. I don't know much about this rifle so please feel free to fill me in.

Makes you wonder why they didn't just go with the GEW98's 29 1/2" barrel and make the rifle a GEW?
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I don't think anyone was being an ass. I think JYD was most sincere in his statement that he had seen it several times. I have as well. That FN49 is super sweet. I have drooled over it more than once.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

It's a heck of a nice SAFN49, sniper or otherwise I like these rifles, they are built to last for all time. :)
