RIA 1911
Re: RIA 1911
Well crud... now I need to get an RIA 1911.
I just hope their price doesn't inflate anytime soon. Gives me a bit of time to save up for one. Not much into .45ACP but... I have to admit these are some darn fine looking guns. I never used to really care for em but I guess like anything that's really meant to be it kinda just grows on ya.

RRR- Ross Riprock Ramjet, that is a nice pistol. I have a friend that liked his 5" Govt. size RIA so much he went back and bought a 2nd RIA 45 in the Commander size compact

Good deal on RIA in SoCal
Don't know if it's okay to mention a sale on at a local (SoCal) Sporting Store chain but there is a really good deal on RIA Mi M1911 A1's at Turner's Outdoorsman for $419.98. I have seen as good if not better prices on out of state dealers but that involves a FFL01 fee and many just refuse to send to CA anyway. I just got the used one I posted here before and can't afford another right now but would run right down if I had the change to spare. You can never have too many 1911's you know! Kind of like MN's.
Re: RIA 1911
I have one of the RIA 'Tactical' 1911. Shoots great, only has jammed with one type of ammo, and the maker of the ammo sent me a box of FMJ's which shot accurate as hades, the hollow points would not shoot in mine. One mag follower split, making that mag questionable, but overall, a great deal if you want a decent 1911 at a cheap (compared to Ed Brown type guns.) I got some custom grips on mine. Was shooting a tad to the left.

Re: RIA 1911
These seem to be a great gun for the money. I haven't heard anyone complain about them. Nice shooting. I might have to pick me up one soon.

I'm a 1911 sucker and I like seeing the RIA porn. Nice 1911's guys!!! I don't have a Rock yet, but I do have a Colt Officers ACP, Springfield Champion Lightweight, Taurus PT1911 and Dan Wesson Pointman Major. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Rock as they get solid reviews, and from what I hear on the 1911 forums their customer service is very good too.

Nice 1911s. I have been wanting a RIA 1911 for a while now. The only .45 I have is my HiPoint .45, which I know everyone will shrug at, but for only $135 and lifetime warranty, I LOVE it, and it shoots great. But I always wanted a 1911. The RIAs seem to be the only ones I can really afford. Centerfire has several. My one of desire is the polished nickel 1911 with wood grips. But for a defensive gun, is the standard okay, or should I get the tactical version over the GI? How are the high capacity RIA 1911s, with the 14 rd magazine?
Re: RIA 1911
My 'Tactical' version has adjustable rear sights, and a front fiber optic sight. Works great for normal or lower light shooting. I think that would be personal preference, I am sure the standard GI sights would work.
