Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

OK, I used Google and found the answer..
"Archangel" you can see the son of Joseph Stalin take on a Squad or Russian Federation Special Forces with what I think is an M-38 Mosin-Nagant and whoops them all.
Stalin, and Cross of Iron to name a few. The Winter War is another one that features the Finnish side again with plenty of Mosin porn in it as well
any others.?

I wznt one of the left-handed mosins that are on my Enemy at the Gates dvd cover.

On Facebook? Check out the non-sporter preservationist group at: OOOPS. Deleted by Facebook because it's evil to even discuss collectible firearms on social media these days.

Sorry but I grabbed that one - it was one-of-a-kind.racerguy00 wrote:I wznt one of the left-handed mosins that are on my Enemy at the Gates dvd cover.

Awesome movie.
Re: Enemy at the Gates
Talvisota, supposedly the full length version that was aired in Finland has alot more humor and insight into the characters. That was cut for the South Korean version that we have all watched. I have never found a Region 1 version of the original.

That might be the copy I have on VHS, but the picture quality sucked even for the VHS era.

The original is 6 hours long, IIRC.

Re: Enemy at the Gates
Enemy at the Gates was so embelished by Hollywood additions if compared to the truth (according to the Russians) it barely compares to what actually happened. Typical thing about Hollywood making a "True" story according to their standards they stretch the truth so far it is paper thin. Shame we can't just be entertained by what actually happend, I think that says something about our society today.

Re: Enemy at the Gates
People have the attention span of a gnat these days, without glitz and bullshit they lose interest. Blood upon the Snow, a documentary about ten hours long done by the Russians back in the 90's tells a much better story of the Soviet Unions war in the east than any Hollywood movie. I am not sure it's out on DVD yet, but you can follow all the various parts on youtube.

Let me make a short, open, blanket comment. There are no good guns. There are no bad guns. Any gun in the hands of a bad man is a bad thing. Any gun in the hands of a descent person is no threat to anyone--- except bad people. -- Charleton Heston
Guns are not good, they are not evil. Save those descriptions for the people holding the firearm. -- Unknown
1943 Izhevsk
1937 Izhevsk
1935/48/50 Tula (hex)
1939 Tula (laminate stock)
And many other firearms

Re: Enemy at the Gates
A couple of thoughts over a Vodka or two,......Hollywood really isn;t the enemy, they only make what sells. The average American is really not interested in factual but rather "NOT" interested in facts. BUT, Hollywood has made many many pictures that have "opened hearts and minds "Grapes of Wrath" "Philidelphia" for ex., re-inspired a reawakened love of Country (Patton, or perhapps Saving Pvt Ryan) or made you realize just how crazy the whole thing was/is ( Dr Strangelove)....MHO.

Re: Enemy at the Gates
I would also respectfully ask
;......could we get a dedicated area for movies? Frankly I have never heard or seen any of what is being discussed and I am both enlightened and amazed as to the available historu on YouTube!
