Some scopes or mounts have not been refinished and show some finish wear. Some have some dings in the wood.
hoping to get them up for sale tonight, @$579.95
Thanks Bryan. The more we know about them the better.

Ok guys I jumped in and bought one. It'll be a Tula. So now we'll have one to inspect and I'll take as many pictures and of any part of the rifle anyone wants. Now I have a question. I'm not sure if there's going to be a choice of year but would a 43 or a 44 be better to have? I mean which year would be more rare?

Note: I won't post any pictures until or unless Admin. wants to inspect them or wants me to post it in a particular place for scrutiny.

Well Mike, The double 4s look good but if you add the 4 and the 3 they equal 7. I only have personal preference but if it were me i would get the 44 Tula.

Yeah I have no clue really and am not even sure if he has these in different years for the Tulas. The pictures he has up show a 44 Tula and a 43 Izhevsk. The Tula's are sold out already. When I got mine there was 398 rifles and the last time I looked there was 345. I think they had about 400 but someone on another forum said they had sold 100 rifles already when they had 372 left so I'm not sure.
I know I'm taking a chance here but I figured what the heck. Tomorrow's my birthday and I felt lucky. We'll see. If they turn out not to be authentic, completely authentic I mean, I guess I lose. I won't feel bad even if that happens. I'm leaning towards a 44 also. I have a few M44s that are 1944 but no 43 or 44 M91/30 so now I'll have one from that year and it will be a Tula.

Well happy birthday you old geezer. :toast: :toast: dance5 It is nice of you to fall on the grenade here. I think they are gonna sell out anyway. I was on another forum and they all were chomping at the bit waiting for them to go. Have a beer on me Mike.

Thanks Brad I feel like an old geezer most of the time and I'm only going to be 51. All the years of pulling on wrenchs and lifting stuff I really shouldn't have has taken it's toll. Stabbing transmissions in with no jack tends to be bad for your health. What canI say, I'm a hardheaded old polack ;)

So the consensus is a 44 so far. What do the rest of you think? 43 or 44?

I think 1944 is slightly rarer for tula.

I kind of got that too. I found a post on gunboards about sniper serial numbers and there was less 44s in the list than the 43s. Ok that's another for 44.

From Tuco at Gunboards (Vic's partner):

"These came from the Bryansk military storage facility"

"I know as fact this is where they came from. I tried to buy these over a year ago. I'm limited in what I can say as I am under a confidentiality agreement (not from Io as I was bidding against them). Still I can state 100% as fact that is where these came from. There are no more snipers there at least none for sale. In time more info will come out on these & maybe "other" stuff as well. But to answer your question LC, there is paperwork but not paperwork with each rifle. Still as I saw the rifles there I am pretty sure where these came from."
