Oldest firearm you own?

If it fires black powder, it is discussed here.

I have a double barrel pistol from the cap lock era, probable early to mid 1840's, no pics at this time, but I will see what I can do later. The bulk of my collection is States War up, BP and smokeless cartridge rifles, I only have flinters I can shoot, and they are reproductions.

At the moment my first Krag rifle, serial dates it at 1897. This will be replaced very, very soon, I need to pick up the one to knock the Krag to second place, a Swiss Vetterli Model 1869/71. The Swiss is paid for, I've just had no time to make the trip.

I guess it would have to be this one; a 1918 SHtLE. I don't have any really old guns.

Don't have to be black powder. I just put it here because we don't have a "general forum".

OK, it's hot, got into the 90's today and I am beat, all I have out just now that I can lay hands on in a few seconds is one of my 1873 Springfield's, this one made in 1885. Maybe in a few days I will dig out something older, but for now this is it.

My 1918 SMLE III* is a near twin to yours except mine has its stock shortened. I got it that way 18 years ago from a FFL dealer in Butte Montana for cleaning the cosmoline from 5 Turk Mausers. (They were the dirtiest, most heavily cosmolined rifles I have ever seen.)

Nice Ithaca, I had one under the counter in the shop for years before replacing it with a Mossberg pump in 1993, now it's the Old Mans house gun.

My honest-to-goodness-oldest would be my 1895 Tula M91

It's in a Finn stock, but no [SA]...

.....& technically it's not that old either, the tang says 1917

It is probably this little pistol, but the rifle is the oldest date.

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
