Never...................
thought I would say this but I am actually down with the sickness and building one for myself. What you ask? A heavy barreled AR-15. Using a Colt A-2 upper with a DElaware Machinery lower (made near my hometown) with a custom HBAR barrel and a fixed stock. Never thought I would build one for myself. Have done so for others but now I get to play LOL ;)

Re: Never...................
I'm eager to see your project. Maybe some photo's of it as your putting it all together along with the finished project?
That would be good to see.

I did that back in the 90's to piss off Bill Clinton, built the M4.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Re: Never...................
I built mine much later than Jim, and I did it just before the Obama scare (after he won the election but before taking office).
Mine is Left handed. Slap that thing together and let us see it!

Give us a work in progress thread.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Re: Never...................
Sorry to hear that, NS!
Keep it on the back burner till the money's right.....
I built an XM177E2 with an A2 upper right after I got out in '89. Sold it on the eve of the Clinton Ban. Brought it to a gun show, and got over 4x what I had into it.
I'm keepin' my AK build though!
