Okay, which one of you???

The Art of Relaxation is much maligned, but I still aim for da Vinci status.

This add make me feel the same as this video does!bb91 wrote:I am a collector, and am looking for some mosin nagant rifles to refinish and take to the range. Looking for all makes and models, 91/30's, M44's, particularly interested in M38's, Russian and Finn models...Good bores are a must. I am refinishing it, so I'm not looking for wall hangers, but obviously I don't want a weapon that's falling apart.

Re: Okay, which one of you???
Kermit you don't know how many times I've been asked on other forums why would I want all the Mosin Nagants I have. Lots of people out there that really think they're simply junk rifles that will never be truely collectable or worth anything. Then I tell them about the Polish M44 I bought for $89.99 at Big5 12 years ago. Try to find one for that now. If they weren't collectable you'd find them for that all day long.kermit wrote:probably the mauser lover that passing out mosin nagant h8r aid on calguns.com. he was upset when i got tired of his h8ing mosin's and ask why someone would want a rifle that lost 2 world wars when he buy a mosin nagant.
What I don't understand is why would someone finds the need to judge what someone collects or why. Collecting is supposed to be fun first and value or profit is just an added bonus.

I don't remember those days, WH. Sadly.
I do remember this Family Guy episode:
(Pepperidge farms commercial)
Guy in Commercial: Remember those sweet, warm New England summers? Remember sipping lemonade underneath a shady tree? Remember when you hit that pedestrian with your car at the crosswalk and then just drove away? Pepperidge Farm remembers, but Pepperidge Farm ain't just gonna keep it to Pepperidge Farm's self free of charge. Maybe you go out and buy yourself some of these distinctive Milano cookies, maybe this whole thing disappears.
Dang TV! You've ruined my short term whosiwatsitz.

Re: Okay, which one of you???
I remember them, real well, I am looking at some of the stuff I bought back then right now, and I well remember what I paid for it. The happy time , inexpensive guns, ammo so cheap it might as well be free, it was one long shooting party. Pulling 25 guns at a time out of one days flea market, going home and cleaning them for the next day shoot, case after case of ammo, mountains of fired cases. Developing the skill of eating a chili dog and blowing the shit out of a target with a Garand at the same time. Heaven, that's what it was, new milsurps just about every f***in' day, and for what we would consider next to nothing, more than once it was nothing! I never had so much fun in my life, and never will again
Forget it? Not on your life!

The vomit baby is revolting, fortunately I have no kids, yuk!
Movie? That was my life, we were young(er) had money, big cars with huge trunks, and the world was suddenly full of every sort of milsurp all of it selling for fire sale prices. We could eat and drink what we wanted and we did, sit around shooting and cleaning guns all weekend every weekend. I loved that time, every minute of it, never forget it, and I held on to all my toys from back then, but ammo is somewhat more expensive now
Loading up the huge trunk of my Caddy with enough hardware to collapse the springs, head down to the range and shoot all day long, that was our 4th of July, only we did it all the time. I would run out of targets and use tin cans and old car mufflers as targets. 8mm Mauser, 7.62x54r, US M2 Ball, US M1 Carbine, .357 mag, .45 acp, ,45 Long Colt, 12 Gauge, 7.65mm Argentine, 7mm Mauser, .303 Brit, 8mm Lebel, .30-40 Krag, 6.5 Jap, 45/70, .30-30. and .22 all in the same day. We had it all, black rifles, milsurps, BP guns, pistols, banging away all day. We still do this of course, but now it's once or twice a year with ammo that costs more than some of the milsurps I am shooting it in did. $45 Enfields, M39's, $200 Garands and M1 Carbines,
It was a blast,

That was intended as an instructional video should you capture bubba in action, or need to question someone found trying to drag off your gun safe some night.

COllectors don't fu8k up there guns, black smiths do! Collectors don't offer prices out front, Hacks do. This my friends is no collector, he may be a shooter, but he's no collector! THis is the type of guy would parts in on an old vintage Garand and call it original. I glad I'm going on vacation!

Re: Okay, which one of you???
I can see it already, first night on the ship, Steve is sitting down to supper, the guy next to him introduces himself, " hi there neighbor, names Cletus Boogermeister, Boonton New Jersey, I'm in the gun business, just call me Bubba, everyone does"

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
