Century Snipers (CAI)

Post by bb91 »

Guy's, I was offered another all matching "44" Tula sniper today.

My understanding is that it's an older import, best I can tell it's all legit as it has all the keys features.

In comparison to my recent sniper purchase, it is an obvious refurb.

This one has a much rougher metal finish and the scope number and rifle number is electro-penciled on the mount.

The 1943 dated PU scope has a 19 [X] 64 IIRC.

It is all stamped matching but what is different is that the numbers on this one do not have the cyrillic letter prefix's on the butt-plate floor plate or bolt.

Correct flaking schellac and "44" dated Tula stock.

What would you say the value is on one of this description today? :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: Thanks!

It's hard to say. It kinda like this. Everything has to be right or it's not what it's supposed to be. It's really a tough call buying one in the wild. I would worry me to death and I have two. There are just so many things to consider. You know the Safe bet.........RGUNS, but if you wish to walk on the wild side, buyer beware.

Somebody has said there is a block of known numbers for the snipers from CAI. I don't know what they are or where they are though. :D

Thanks Jumperwire, everything is right (from my limited experience) although I'm not sure about the serial number prefix's, I believe I heard that it was normal on some refurbs? Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks desdem12, I will see if I can ferret out that information. :)

All the Russian PU snipers will be refurb'd unless you find one of the very few that were not.

If you do you are a very lucky man. They are very rare.

I don't even bother to look at CAI sniper rifles. Too much controversy on them because they made so many fakes and "put together" sniper rifles.

ATI...Maybe, but they sell fakes also.
RGUNS....OK
