Do not shoot .38 super in your Nagant, it is way too high pressure for it. There is a cylinder made for the Nagant that uses .32acp, but for the most part it's a waste of time as you loose the gas seal with it.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

How many of you guys have a Russian M1895 7.62 Nagant Revolver and actually shoot them considering the relatively high cost of ammo compared to 9mm or .38 cal. I just got a CZ 82 and a Md 57 Yugo and I'm thinking about adding to my collection. Is a Nagant Revolver a good idea or not at $100.00 with holster and extra mag.plus shipping and ammo at 50 RDS> for $29.95 Thanks for your help.JGC

I'd like to find a MO marked one to go with the other rifles. So far just a 1941 Tula refurb and a 1937 Tula non import, non refurb.

Shoot it? Very rarely, I am not much of a handgun guy, and my Ruger uses the .38 special I load myself, much cheaper.

I just ordered one and the Big brown truck of happiness stopped by today. UNFORTUNATELY I was in the basement with the radio on and did't hear the guy. I at least received one out of two packages, (He left the 30.06 Ammunition) I have to figure out how to pick up the package as it's not rescheduled until Tuesday and I can't wait that long!!!!
Damn, I'll bet that's going to leave a mark! Probably hurt too!

That happened to me last month and I called the local UPS office and they let me come down and pick it up when the truck got back from its run.My local office stops answering the phone at 6:30 PM,but they let me pick it up a little later about 7.00 PM when the truck got there. You must call ahead to confirm but they were very eager to get rid of the order without having to make a return trip. Good luck. JGC

Picked up the Pistol at UPS land this morning. As I was leaving all the trucks pulled out . Reminded me of the scene in "A Bridge too Far" when all the troop transports took off. My new 1931 Tula is sweating Cosmo as I type. Range test ASAP but I only have 28 rounds. After checking the trigger pull, 28 might be enough. :big shock:

If you can get the cartridge in the chamber, it will probably fire. It might only fire ONCE, but you can usually get it to fire. :big shock:
You try it, if you still have enought fingers left to type, and vision to see the keyboard, let us know how it worked out......

I did shoot .32 S&W long in the Nagant revolver with no problems except paying for it.

I I just test fired my $99.95 Nagant 7.62 Revolver for the first time. Double action was almost impossible at first. After about 28 rounds I was able to get the hang of it, but single action is the only way I could hit anything. I wonder if there is any way to improve the DA to make it easier.Any ideas out there? Thanks JGC :D

Lieper is the Nagant guru. In his post here is how Ivan helped the trigger pull. Kind of neat.
