After 8 years in the Army and carrying one the whole time along with other weapons I knew I always wanted one. Then with a better job and some time I finally said I have to have one...why the wife asked, because I can. No high end stuff but if the lowest bidder was good enough for the Govt this one should be good enough for me. This is my get the he'll out of Dodge gun. Along with anything else I can carry that shoots.
And if it really goes to hell maybe I can find one of these death traps.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

Nice. I recently built one just for the hell of it, myself.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
You guys have really GOT to stop posting all of these cool pics of your AR rifles...you are making me rethink my AK47 decision...curse you all.
Thats a great looking rifle by the way! Did you buy it or did you build it? The reason I ask is because a friend just finished building his own AR style rifle. It took him well over a year to accumulate the pieces but he said it was a labor of love and his rifle ended up looking damn good.
@Ban-One - You don't need to rethink the AK... get both!
@BuckeyeSgt - What do you think of that Bushnell? I have what I believe is the exact same thing on my AR-10. I am curious to hear what your opinion is of it. I must say I like mine. It's not an ACOG for sure but after having gone through a few red dots this one is by far the most solid of the bunch. I only have one minor complaint and that's no externally visible way to see if it is off or on. You'd think there would be a marker on the dial somehow but there isn't. I can live with that though.

It's just a Bushmaster ORC. Added the rest. Magpul BUIS. I had some other scopes and red dots on it but never liked them. I got the Bushnell and it works pretty well. One day I may go for something a little better but my Mosinitis takes up too much money
