1924 SCW Izhevsk Dragoon

Post by bb91 »

Guy's, here's one that's a "little" out of my collecting focus, at least up until now, as I mostly collect the "Finn's" and prefer matching rifles, but in this case I made an exception. :D

Nothing matches on this one like in tjtM38's updated dragoon thread, nice pickup by the way, Congrats!

I hope these pic.s can do it some justice, no counter-bore or import marks

Wow, nice find. That's about probably about the earliest SCW Mosin I've seen yet, and it looks great :Drool1:

Technically it does have an import mark, haha! NIce rifle. That's a real crisp barrel shank stamp. Alot better condition than my SCW Dragoon. If you don't mind I could probably use the photos of your wire hangers on my SCW site. It's always nice to have more examples for people to compare, and you took those photos perfectly too!

Greasemonkey thanks, I didn't think of it as being "early", I just haven't seen many SCW dragoons.

I got this one (among others) from a long time collector and all around great guy. to him!

Actually, the oldest I've seen is an 1899 dated M91 with the "Made in USSR" stamp. That's a rifle I'd LOVE to own, haha!

Maybe..... I've owned it a little over a year, I picked it from another collector and I don't know how long they had it. :?:

I have found that it's often a small world in the collecting community. :D
