I must be the only one around who doesn't like Remington pumps. I can't stand the slide release.

I'm not crazy about it but I have long fingers so it doesn't bother me too much. I would prefer it to be easier to access though. The thing about mossberg that I haven't liked is that they seem to loosen up a ton with age. Idk maybe others have had different experiences. I'll have to start a thread about them to get some opinions. Sorry avenger, I didn't mean to thread jack you buddy!

My preference is for the Winchester 1897 Trench Gun, I like the no disconnect feature if I even need to sweep a large area very quickly, I can do the same with the Model 12 Winchester.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Enjoy! I have one and love it. The stock is to short for me to shoot comfortably though. Even though I hate the look of collapsible stocks on AK's, I might be putting one on it.

You're not alone. I can't stand Remington pump guns. I'll take a Mossberg any day. I have a 500 Persuader. The safety is in the exact spot you'd want it in on Mossbergs in my opinion as well.

The only problem with the Mossberg safety is it's occasional breakage, plastic, but this rarely renders the weapon unusable. It is placed well.

I like the underfolders for storage purposes, other wise I like the look of the traditional AK.

I never liked the steel skeleton buttstocks of the underfolders, they lack a solid feel, but they do make the weapon easier to pack away in small places

I actually have it hanging behind an old jacket. All nice and invisible like :)
Paracord makes the cheekweld more bearable, especially when it's cold, but it certainly doesn't have the feel of a real stock. Still, it allows for a steady aim.

I was watching a Russian movie about Afghanistan the other night on Netflix, I noticed that some of the AK's they were carrying had rope wrapped around the buttplate, presumably to cushion it a bit when held near the face. They never showed them carrying the rifles with the stocks folded that I noticed, I forget the movies name, 9th company maybe.

Can the underfolders be fired in the folded position? Or is there some kind of disconect when its folded?

Yes, they can be fired folded up. If I'm not mistaken the safety can be operated, too.

Yes, and not all that much bigger than a Draco AK.

I have seen them fired folded up, can't imagine how they hit anything like that

I''d liken it to shooting a shotgun with a pistol grip. Basically you can just point shoot it. I know that even in a CQC I'd want that stock unfolded as quick as I could.

I am pretty good point shooting with the Mossberg, and the coach gun, but that took years of practice.
