I found this ammo deal on Gunbroker the other day. Cost me 40.00 shipped, but I hadn't spent a dime on my No 5 Jungle Carbine so I felt pretty good about the deal. :-)Bandoleer of .303 British

A guy I know gave me two of those filled with .303 British on stripper clips. Slightly different design it looks. They are stamped on the back, but I can't make it out.

Are those steel cases? I have a lot of .303 but no steel case. I even have some .303 F&N tracers.pacanis wrote:A guy I know gave me two of those filled with .303 British on stripper clips. Slightly different design it looks. They are stamped on the back, but I can't make it out.

I didn't pull them all out, but they appear to be brass; FN marked FMJ, like the one shimming the rifle up.

Looks a bit like my Korean era bandoleer.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Those look like cupro-nickel jacketed bullets. I'm guessing this is really old ammo. I would assume that it is corrosive priming.

Cordite rounds probably, looks like the 1938 dated stuff J&G sent me eight years ago.

That looks like some nice .303 BD are going to fire it or stash it as a collectible?

Re: Bandoleer of .303 British
If it's WW2 British then it's cordite. Shake the cartridge, if you can hear powder moving around it's not cordite, cordite tightly packs the case.
