Re: 91/30 prices are creeping up
You go to your local gun shop and ask the proprietor if he will handle a firearms transfer for you and how much he charges for the service, $10-$100 has been known. Then you find the SKS you want, get a copy of the shops FFL and send it to the seller with your payment. The seller ships the rifle to the gun shop, you pay the transfer fee and fill out the yellow form like with any firearms purchase and conform to any other state laws like waiting periods and such. If you can't find an FFL to do the transfer check on gunbroker, they can usually provide someone at or near your zip code who will handle it.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Go here http://gun-deals.com/fflfinder.php put in your zip code and there might be some options you didn't know about. I don't know exactly where you are but I put 45298 in and it came back with a bunch of them. On a side note I just got a Yugo M59/66 SKS from Wideners for $309 and it's in great shape. It's refurbed but for what I want it's fine. It looks like new and it also looks like it has a new barrel. AIM also has an FFL finder and even though they don't have any SKS's for sale it may come back with some different FFL's the gun-deals finder doesn't have. http://www.aimsurplus.com/storelookup.aspxavenger wrote:Alright..thats how i figured it worked....theres a guy near me that does ffl transfers for 10$ i believe...the LGS does it for 40

Just used your site to find a good deal on 100 rounds of Winchester military buckshot. I am upgrading some of my ammo supply, apparently my paranoia knows no limits

You mean the one's Cabela's has? Cliff (MNFan) submitted those. I just looked and they were backordered on the site but I fixed that. I haven't gotten back to updating that catagory for a while. I'm on 38 Special at the moment. Sam at SGAmmo carries them too from time to time but I think he's out right now. I recently bought 4 of these from him http://www.sgammo.com/product/federal/1 ... c-ammo-can and a 250 round case of Winchester hollow point rifled slugs. 12ga is one of the calibers I had been slacking on. I have some hunting rounds too, 4 and 6 shot. I got them to hunt Turkey but have kind of given up on that for now. It's Turkey season here right now and my neighbor saw a huge Tom with 3 hens in the field behind the house 2 weekends ago while he was chasing his bull back home, lol.

It's paying for it that may be the hard part.
Re: 91/30 prices are creeping up
It only took 12 years for 91/30s to go from $69 to $79 I wouldn't worry. you'll be to old to shoot by the time they hit $100

Re: 91/30 prices are creeping up
I have paid as little as $55 for a 91/30 refurb, and 12 years back in 2000 they were less than that. Prices climb sharpest when the supply to the dealers runs out. Inevitably this will happen, and probably soon.

SOG will charge you a 3 per cent credit card fee AIM will not.Send out your C&R so they will let you see the prices J&G is a little higher. Get a copy of SHOT GUN NEWS ASAP.Many gun shows have SKS. That's where I got my first MILSUP and ammo. The ammo dealers will sell small amounts on last day for less sometimes to keep from having to keep from hauling around and keeping track..JGC

Re: 91/30 prices are creeping up
Well, mine are bought, and I am not buying more unless I find them at some giveaway price. It happens, usually along the line of woman catches husband with ( use your imagination) and kindly offers all his guns for pennies on the dollar. This I have seen.

Re: 91/30 prices are creeping up
Which 7.62x54R semi- auto is the best choice. I want to buy now before prices do creep up anymore. Next election may also put an end to having any choice at all
I have many MN carbines and rifles so I would like a semi-auto to use as a squad type assault weapon .I do have AK47's but I want bigger bang.7'62x54R would make my ammo inventory cheaper than NATO weapons since I already have much 7,62x54R AMMO Unfortunately I can't afford an M14, my 1st love, (GOD's gun) I know this posting should be in one of the Semi-auto forums but I didn't know which one . Sorry. Thanks JGC
