Hey yall. I havent posted very much here becasue of being busy. Also just because my knowledge of collectable firearems is still very small. You could say Im overwhelmed by your wisdom . Well Ive had three major gun purchases that Ive wanted to get before I expand into more military surplus guns. I like to call them my big three lol. An ar15, an ak47, and a remington 870 ( shorter barreled not hunting gun). Well Ive saved a little cash and finally got to start working on getting them. Went to a big gun show a few weeks ago and got a kick start on them. Here is what I have so far yall.
All I need to complete the rifle after the upper gets here is a stock, tool for the stock, magazines, and a rear sight. Im sure more goodies will find its way to this rifle. Im very excited because this is my first ar15 build. Im having a blast building these. Next will come the ak47 after this build is finished. Probably a saiga. My gun collection is moving right along

Let me make a short, open, blanket comment. There are no good guns. There are no bad guns. Any gun in the hands of a bad man is a bad thing. Any gun in the hands of a descent person is no threat to anyone--- except bad people. -- Charleton Heston
Guns are not good, they are not evil. Save those descriptions for the people holding the firearm. -- Unknown

That's awesome! AR15s are my secret obsession. Ever since the guys here helped advise me on the one I picked up, I'll never not own one again. I do look forward to building one someday too.
I very much look forward to the finished project and, of course, the required range report

Congrats
Thanks man! At first I was more of a fan of the ak than the ar to be honest. But once I started looking more into the ar15 platform and learning how flexible it is I fell in love with it. Exspecially when I found that you can pretty much build them yourself with basic hand tools ( except for a couple special tools). Then you have all the other great things about the platform. I love building stuff so naturally I like it . The upper is supposed to take up 15 business days to build and ship. So it might get done by the end of the month or next month depending on the finances. I hate budgets sometimes lol. On the positive side Ive been tinkering with my other guns and just got a spam can of mosin food to keep me for a lil bit .

Your thumb is blocking the serial number of my...I mean , your rifle Nice, put the 870 in the shotgun section, been quiet there of late.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Haha that was intentional. I probably should have trimmed my thumbnail first . I dont have the shotgun yet. That will come after this build and after I get me an ak. But when I do get it I will post it up.

Building ARs is so much fun except when you loose a detente pin and have to order a $1 part and pay $8.95 shipping

The $8.95 is just to make sure you don't loose it a second time

Yeah there are a bunch of small parts to lose. So far I haven't lost anything. I had a few problems driving in the roll pin for the trigger guard. Its amazing how much easier they drive in when you load them up with oil
