Cool stock repairs

Post by SA1911a1 »

How about showing us your cool stock repairs?

I will start with the handguard repair on a '55 Polish M-1944. This one may have been done with toothpicks after lunch.
If I am not mistaken, the Polish called this the Frankensteinski repair.

I find this one interesting. Looks like they had to re-drill the hole or something... :?:

Not a "repair" per say, but filled sling holes to use standard M27 slinf.

Looks like the Finn gunsmith just couldn't stand the bolt being that far out of the finger groove, so he corrected it.

I might do the same to my M-91 :D

What model MN is that Rongoman? Could that be one of the early M91 stocks that had the wood cross bolt that was latter drilled for a steel one.

Buckeye I love that stock repair. I recently saw one like that on a Mosins for sale at Cabelas. Should have bought it.

There was also one on GB a couple of days ago, it might still be a current auction. Try searching "pool que repair", I think that is how the owner advertised it.

Now that you bring it up, it is rather funny. Other collectors would run and hide from such repairs, but Mosinitis is a strange ailment.
