century 91/30's

Post by dou44 »

i went to my lgs today because i knew they were getting some in.first thing i noticed was that they droped the price down to $114 .the one they had on the was was a 42 Izhevsk that matched with brass cap's on the hg.the gun looked ok but nothing special.the other 4 were not any better ,all were good at the most and some had bare metal on the reciever where thr black paint came off. stocks were ok but nothing like the ones you get from aim. one was like rough saw mill cut lumber and another had a nickle size hole next to the sling slot where the plug had came out.i hope that we are not going to see a lot of these being sold now.i would have been mad if i had ordered one and it looked like these were. to me these were $69 rifles to order at the most.

Sounds like surplus to me. The store probably struck a deal for the leftover culls.

The local Dunham's had a Mosin sale for $79.99. Were all sold out so I got a raincheck. I got called that my gun came in. Went with my friend and let him use my raincheck (I'll use his raincheck when his comes in). Out came a CAI box with my name on. Gave it to my friend as he unboxed it.

Out came a mint 1932 Hex Izhevsk. All matching (some force matched). Perfect post war stock (I think). MINT BORE, looked unfired. Slugged it to .300 land and 0.3105 groove. Am I a good friend or what!

Some of the CAI's coming in are PRETTY good.

When the supply gets low they will sell whatever is left in the storage locker. They may have imperfections, but they are still milsurps, one day $114 will seem cheap even for these.
