Re: Czech low recoil ammo ???'s
Yeah I've been thinking that one over too. I'm going to have 7 new rifles and I haven't decided if I'm going to put the Garand up or not. This will make 15 Mosin Nagants now and believe it or not I don't have doubles of any so far.Fred_G wrote:Next time I come over, we will have to build gun racks instead of shoot.WeldonHunter wrote:I've been fighting the rifle buying gods since Bryan put all those Mosins up last night and lost. I bought 4 more of them a few hours ago. I'm in the process of buying 2 Mausers and another SKS now. Got calls to make tomorrow. I decided to go with the 24/47 and M48 that Widener's has as well as the M59/66 Yugo they have. CL upped the price of his 24/47s to $225 and with no cleaning rod or anything else it made Widener's look that much better. Widener's comes with Bayonet, scabbard, frog, cleaning kit, ammo pouch, sling, cleaning rod and oil can for $269 and the M48 is the same price but only has the cleaning rod but I have an extra Bayonet that will fit it if need be. I like the bent bolt on it. The SKS, well I just wanted it. ;)Fred_G wrote:Damn you Weldon, I do not need to spend money on another gun! I am going to a major shooting party this weekend... And you tempt me with guns. You ain't right!
Edit: I do have a set of doubles. The Russian M44s are both 1944. That's ok ones got a dent the other doesn't so it's different. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Ok I just went and looked at them and one's a wartime stock and the other is postwar so they're technically different. Now that's my story and I'm sticking to that. ;)

Oh Noooo!! Put up on the wall, lol. I'll be buried with the rifle. It's my favorite, favorite rifle. I love all my mil-surps but the Garand has a special place in my heart. All of them do.
Re: Czech low recoil ammo ???'s
I was wondering. Not like you to sell one! Good to hear you will keep it.
Re: Czech low recoil ammo ???'s
Fred, I did not have to send them a copy of my DL. I thought that was unusual as I think its my first order with them, but I honestly can't remember. If its not its been some time since I have ordered there.
Mike, those trainers are too cool, but about a month away from my being able to order one. I may look at that time again. On the other hand if I sell my fire wood truck, I may get some cash up sooner. Thanks for the heads up.
I will however order some more of that trainer ammo cause it sounds like Wyatt will be able to use his Mosin with it.

No problem. I thought they were kind of on track for the conversation. Oh and if you guys are talking about needing to send your DL to SGAmmo to order the answer is no. Sam has never required that. He has a disclaimer that you agree too stating you're of the correct age. Sam's a buddy of mine. Fred_G that 8mm Mauser M49 ammo and tin of 7.62x54R you got from me was from him. I thought you knew that, unless you guys are talking about something else.Sgt. Rob wrote:Fred, I did not have to send them a copy of my DL. I think I was confusing them with Samco Global Arms...

Re: Czech low recoil ammo ???'s
Oh ok. Well I know Samco Global requires a DL as well as requiring you to have your FFL send their info. before you can even order a firearm. They lost maybe a $1200 sale from me last night because of that. That and the non native english speaking woman I got and some of the descriptions they have. When I asked her about certain things I felt like I was getting the bums rush.Fred_G wrote:I think I was confusing them with Samco Global Arms...
I ended up ordering from Widener's last night once I saw they stated I could order and then make arangements with my ffl to send the info. with my order number. I kept having to wait until the storms would pass. Being on Satalite internet I would get so far into the order and have to stop because of loss of internet. Then I'd have to start all over because the security features timeout. I finally got it done. I got another M91/30 Round from them. I paid $10 more but they state they have matching bayonets. I know it's only a forced match but at least out of the 13 of these I'll have now I'll have one that has is all matching including the bayonet. Besides because I was ordering other rifles the shipping was cheaper. This one comes with all of the same stuff as the ones from AIM but also has an oil can. I asked for specific years to be excluded as well as asked for a Tula if they have it. I doubt either of these requests will be fulfilled on purpose but I asked. I also got the M48 Yugo 8mm Mauser with turned down bolt issued that way not repro., 47/24 Yugo 8mm Mauser with all the toys and the Yugo M59/66 SKS.
Oh and Rob sorry to have hijacked your thread. Didn't intend to do that.
Re: Czech low recoil ammo ???'s
More like thread drift vs hijack WeldonHunter. I am off to shoot this weekend with a bunch of folks I have never met from another forum... Will be interesting. I am tempted to bring the 8mm, but I can shoot that sucker all day, love it, and only have so much ammo left.
Think I will stick to the small arms.

Yeah I love 'em too. Anytime in the past I've shot at ranges with either the 8mm or the 54R they get peoples attention. Great conversation pieces. To bad 12 years ago I knew virtually nothing about either of them.Fred_G wrote:More like thread drift vs hijack WeldonHunter. I have ordered from the funny accent lady and though she sounds bad i had no problem with them. I do recommend samco. I had good luck with them.

Re: Czech low recoil ammo ???'s
Yeah I think they're probably ok. They might have been in better shape than these but after considering everything I decided to go with the one's from Widener's. I got 4 rifles from Widener's for a little more than it would have been for 3 from Samco and one is the M48 Yugo 8mm Mauser with turned down bolt I wanted which Samco didn't have and the 4th rifle is another Mosin Nagant M91/30 round. $990 OTD from Widener's including shipping. I would have ended up with 2 24/47s from Samco but one would have been a bent bolt but I got that with the M48 from Widener's. The SKS Samco has doesn't come with a sling or accessories either and if I remember right the Mausers didn't have accessories unless you paid extra for them. I was looking at the M59/66A1 also and it says "Comes with Accessory kit" but when I asked her about that what they are she said no that's wrong. The catalog doesn't list accessories. So I told her I'm looking at the website right now and it says it does. She said again, no it says no accessories in the new catalog. That was the special select but it also says that all of them come with accessories at the top of the page. Then she said some do. Ok which ones? She was at a loss. I was about done after that. I got similar conflicting answers in the conversation. I don't remember hearing anyone complain about them and I know them well from the deals people have submitted for them on gun-deals. They're one of the last places that have M67 Yugo ammo and the reason is their price has been one of the highest. $326/1260rds and $259/1120rds on strippers and that's before shipping. I know the guys at Widener's and if I have a problem I can talk to someone that understands what the hell I'm saying and more importantly will fix it. I'm sure she's a nice lady Brad but my ass was getting tired just talking to her, lol.desdem12 wrote:I have ordered from the funny accent lady and though she sounds bad i had no problem with them. I am sure you did the right thing Mike. I would of gone that way too. It just was a better deal to go with wideners. That M48 if in good condition is a flat steal for that. If samco raised their prices it was cheaper for the 24 then also. I'm waiting with anticipation to see how good they are.

Re: Czech low recoil ammo ???'s
The 24 was cheaper at $249.95 but it doesn't come with any of the accessories. Just the cleaning rod. They have the accessories but they're $29.95 for used and $34.95 for new. I asked her about the new and if they're geniune or reproduction and she said they're real. I'm skeptical about that. $5 more for a new set of these. I don't know. What do you think?desdem12 wrote:I am sure you did the right thing Mike. I would of gone that way too. It just was a better deal to go with wideners. I Ordered a set of the used and i know they are real so i would say the new are as well. They more then likely just bought a big batch and there was some new in it and they seperated them and added 5 bucks. At least that is my thinking. I know samco has imported quite a bit of real guns so i have no problem with them being real. I think that if i thought they were fake i could get my money back. I have some faith in samco and have had good but small dealings with them.

I might use them in the future. I trust your judgement Brad. Now I wish they'd bring the price of that Yugo M67 down and I'd buy a bunch of it.desdem12 wrote:I Ordered a set of the used and i know they are real so i would say the new are as well.
