Take a clear pic of the bottom of the trigger guard and the bottom or side of the magazine. which ever the serial number is stamped.
Also, the S/n on left of stock. Then the right side of stock. Need real clear close pics. Look for a 1.TRZ on the right side. May not even have it.

Your rifle is a G-xxxxx Serial Number. Manufactured in 1970. The Grenade launcher appears to be a refurb piece because it has three lines of hole rather than one or none.

It is a REALLY nice looking rifle and you stole that one. Thief. LOL LOL!

A nice Yugo DK  It is a big 5 one. You can tell by the flashhider they put on to replace the grenade launcher for sales in california. That price is a steal though. :Drool1: :vcool: :vcool:

It is a yugo M59/66 or a M59/66A1. The difference between the 2 is the A1 has night sights. If yours has the little white dots on the rear sight then it is a A1. :D

Yes, it has the dots on the sights so it's an A1? Is the A1 more disireable?

I am not sure on that. I have seen more A1s then any other models. It should have a grenade launcher on the end though. Big 5 does a lot of gun selling in california and california doesn't allow you to get one with the grenade launcher so big 5 got all of theres redone with that flashhider or what ever you call it. I am not sure how these are attached or if you can get a replacement grenade launcher or even if you want one. I am not sure how i would handle it either. I do know that i would a bought it for that price too and be smiling while leaving. A great deal for sure. Maybe the real SKS guys will know more about the better models. Also the switch on the barrel that moves is for the cycleing. When it is down it will be a semi auto. When it is moved to let the grenade launcher site up then it is like a bolt rifle so it will fire but not cycle. This is for when they shot grenades they could piut in one and then it would not take a live round off the magazine. These are great fun to shoot and real easy to take down and clean. :D

It's the most common Yugoslavian SKS, the Yugoslavian PAP M59 is the one that is harder to find. You can(if your state allows it) legally replace that flash hider with the correct launcher attachment. Also, the original launcher attachment is left hand threaded and have a pin to lock it in place. :?: I do not believe you can just take the current attachment off and leave bare threads showing. :?:

Here is is what the original looks like, the correct launcher attachment would have a series of holes in the very last ring of the launcher. I believe these in the photo are for the later models, they have no ring of holes, but appearance wise the same.

Yep, look up on the thread here. I gave you the year right after you asked.
Also, since the grenade launcher was removed, but it has the square retaining ring as the older ones were installed with
I cannot say whether it is a M59/66 or 59/66A. Not an A1 I think.
It should have Phosphor night sites. Not the tiny white dot tritium sites. Tritium did not come on the scene until about
1986 with the Z series. However, most refurbed rifles received newer tritium sights. If that G has tritium, it has
been through refurb and new sights added before they were put in storage. Very, very common with all of these earlier Carbines.

I cleaned the night sights and they do glow at night so it's an A1 to my understanding

Very nice. I was debating on getting one of these last night and it was between this, the M59/66 or the M59. I ended up getting the M59/66. It's going to end up being about $325 OTD so you did pretty good. I used to buy guns from Big5 when I lived in California. It's where I got my Polish M44 and VZ24 Mauser.
