Bought my third Mosin

Post by BostonMike »

It is like an addiction.

Got myself an 1926 Ishevsk 91/30 in a prewar stock. It's a mixmaster, nothing matches and I need a front sight and cleaning rod, but cost me $50 :)

A curious question though. I can remember reading something about the barrel notch behind the rear sight. Now I can't find any details? It has the gap at the rear of the 91/30 sight so I assume it's an ex-dragoon, but can't find any others with notch

Also, another curious stamp is the boxed "40" in the lower left.

Here is is with the family. It's the far left 91/30

And family barrel stamp shot.

Nice ex dragoon. You should be able to find that part with no problem I'd think.

:vcool: :vcool: :vcool: A nice Ex :Drool1: Great deal too. I bet those post and globes are around. If not you can order a sight from Josh at the top of the forums. Smith sights. One of those would go on there nicely :D

My Lord what a beautiful group picture. You are doing awesome. You can easily find the sight on Ebay. It is for sure a ex dragoon. They didn't yet make the 91/30 so it has to be a ex dragoon or a dragoon, which it is not due to the newer rear sight. Your collection looks just awesome.

Thanks guys. Plenty of front sights on eBay. Just need that and off to the range.

Still haven't fired the M44 yet.

I can cross off Hex receiver 91/30 from my list now. Next up, M38, 91/59 or 91/38. Basically I'm going to be hunting for a bayonet less carbine next.

Awesome ex-dragoon! And the family is coming along nicely! Definately intrested in the range reports when you get to them.

Those ex-dragoons just have alot of class and they are now high on my priority list when the funds build up again!
