I personaly like J&G and SOG. I would trust Aim just on Weldons recommendation too. I would use classic the very last and just if i had too, but that is just me. I think empire is good because of the different rifles he has but he may be expensive but i think you would get what you paid for from dennis.
I have used J&G and SOG with no problems and good service. :D

I have had very good success with Aim. Last purchase was from SOG and got a real nice rifle even tho shipping was a little slow. Maybe they were just busy. I would buy from them again.

Received two mosins's from Aim and a couple of SKS's from Samco no problems with either, but most of my milsurps came from pawn shops and gun shows. I like pawn shows most of all because I like the blind squirrel and nut feeling.

My experience is limited, but I have bought, with good luck, from J&G, but the most purchases I make are on GB. I have bought about 15 firearms from at lest 10 dealers in the last 12 months. The only surprises I have had was getting a better than described firearm.

The volume sellers on GB do a good job of describing their products, and shipping. I have not bought from new or low volume dealers.

Ive used all those, except classic. My only thing with them is I am in NC too. So I already pay shipping. I don't want to pay tax. Another good one is Sovereign Guns. They are on GB and have a website and located in Fuquay-Varina, NC. Their store is a treat to go in to.

AIM surplus
SOG, but you have to have a C&R on file with them to view their website
J&G
Centerfire
RGuns
Century CAN be, but some have had problems
Wideners
Classic- I have bought a couple from them with no complaints, my "value-priced" 91/30 is outstanding with all numbers matching including bayo, except for mag floorplate. Just ordered a Saiga in 7.62x39 from them, had it at my FFL in three days. Some don't like them because they have a tendency to "Hard Chrome" firearms to sell to Bubba's.

You can still find real US M1903's on gunbroker, along with just about everything else.

Great prices and service from AIM, SOG, J&G and RGuns. All will answer emails. Had one order from Classic, I would rate my experience a B-. Only gun that was worse than described. I would buy a new gun from Classic with no problem.

If you read the descriptions on GB you will find that many sellers are dealers with brick and mortar stores, either gun shops or pawn shots and they sell online to supplement their income. Some even have links to their own store sites.

I've had very good results with Empire Arms and Allan's Armory.

Dennis at Empire sent me a very nice Westinghouse M91 some years back, told me the bore was "good", it was brand new. The Finns had a new condition Westinghouse barrel that they put on a 1905 Tula receiver and scrubbed nothing.

No, and not for some time, some of the small gun dealers who sell on GB still list one or two every once in a while.

We used to have arguments over what carbine was best to buy for what reason four-five years back on the old forum. What nobody seemed to consider is that one day there would not be a choice. The 91/59 was tossed in there sometimes also. Allans Armory lists 91/59's from time to time, they are the same dimensions as a M38, and they tend to be very good shooters, as well as even more rare.

Do they have Big 5 stores in boston? If so i would go ask a knowledgeable gun person there to check the inventory of all the stores in the area and you may likely find what you are looking for. :D

M38? - No retailers that I've seen recently. I picked up an M38 on a different forum within the past year. Gunbroker.
