AFib Incident

Post by ffuries »

Wednesday night after dinner, I went into AFib and remained in it until late Thursday night early Friday morning. I thought I was in AFib but it wasn't as pronounced as all my previous episodes, so I wasn't sure..

Apparently my home device that is supposed to send reports automatically decided to send a report. Odd part is, it hasn't sent a report previously, I've alway had to do it manually, since I received it in 2018

Got a call from my Cardiologist office today, they are putting me back on Amiodarone, and have finally scheduled me for another Cardiac Ablation to fix the Atrial Flutter and Atrial Fibrillation. The procedure they wanted to do within 21 days of when I was hospitalized in the beginning of May for AFlutter.

So right now we are on the schedule for 23 Sept 2024 for the procedure. Hopefully my body plays nice with me until then.

Shit, I hope the meds get that under control.

Nope, my wife had the truck and was running errands with it. Plus I haven't driven since my AFlutter incident in early May, mainly because I haven't felt a 100% and didn't trust myself driving. Getting to point I was ready to drive and then this episode.

Oh and I forgot, I've got a pinched nerve in my neck. Makes it hard to turn my head certain ways, so I can't look over my left shoulder, when I do it sends a jolt of pain down my arm and leg.

So it might be awhile before I'm up to driving again.

Good luck with everything! I had an ablation done a little while ago and it went well. I hope it goes the same for you.

They have Uber these days so no need for driving if you might have an issue while doing it. I have loss of feeling and damage to my feet along with chronic dry eye that causes blurred vision in one eye, loss of night vision, and depth perception. I suspended my own driving privileges two years ago after some minor incidents involving hitting the gas when I thought my foot was on the brake. No impacts either time but the writing was on the wall and now I only drive inside the gated compound of the yard. I would rather pay someone else to drive than risk killing someone because I fucked up behind the wheel.

I hear you brother, but damn a two hour round trip stuck with a stranger in the car. No ideal what the price would run on that trip. We have two guns shows coming up soon one in Sept 2024 and another in Nov 2024 in Ft Walton. Don't know when our next local one will be, our last one was in Feb 2024, just before tourist season started. We should have one around Oct 2024 if we're lucky. Since we had one in Oct 2023. So I'll wait for a gunshow and let my Son-in-law drive.

Just chilling today, finally heard back from my Cardiologist office about what the correct dosage on my Amiodarone is.

4 pills for 14 days or 800 mg a day.
2 pills for 14 days or 400 mg a day.
1 pill there after or 200 mg a day.

They want me on it until at least my Ablation in Sept, and they put me on a dose that is double my previous dose. So take these pills for the next 66 days until your Ablation, but write me a prescription for enough pills to last 21 days and no refills. I know I'm bad at math but what the hell. So I called to confirm the doses, then informed them that their math was worse than mine, and that I was short 45 days of pills.

Hmm CINC Household is making breakfast for dinner....Time for me to get some vittles!

Hang in there Brother. At least you're getting breakfast.
“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Well, anyplace I need to go is within three miles or less of me. All my Doctors are just up the road maybe a mile, food stores even closer than that. There just aren't that many places I just need to go, or want to for that matter. Been over a decade or more since I did a gun show, everything is priced up when dealers get into this area, and I already own everything I want anyway. Don't shoot much, with the dry eye shit causing blurred vision in my dominant eye I might as well just toss the box of ammo at the target for any chance of hitting it. I shoot my 22's just to make noise, even that ammo isn't cheap anymore, but I have several lifetimes supply so I can waste some. I can still do OK out to 10 yards or so, anyone thinking of coming for me will find out quick that even now it won't be easy. Pills in the morning and pills at night, I got more pills than Billy Carter had for his liver, ask me in 20 years if they worked. If you can't find me in 20 years you know they didn't work all that well.

My daily pills or my Astronaut Meals as I call them.

Pic 1 Morning pills aka Breakfast 10 pills.
Pic 2 Evening pills aka Dinner 15 pills.

Any place I would like to go, range, gunshow, gun shop, store, restaurant or places I don't want to go like the doctor's offices are all a 10 minute of longer drive away. Well except the gun shop just around the corner, but the people who run it a retired cop who is hardly there, who opened it up for his son who is not really customer friendly, lacks gun knowledge and seems like he doesn't really want to be there.

That's right, I forgot about that, food was supposed to be just a pill by this time along with the flying cars. One pill makes you larger, and one pill makes you small, and the ones that mother gives you don't do anything at all, go ask Alice when she's ten feet tall....
