What the heck is this holster?
No maker's name, perfect fit for a Smith 36. High-quality leather and fasteners. The Holster fastens to the "C" shaped piece with three Dot fasteners and it can only fasten one way, so the two pieces are mounted together right. I bought it from bad pictures, on eBay thinking that it was an ankle holster, but it is not. It would take elephant size legs to fit it up. The only thing that I can figure is it might be an upside-down vertical holster missing a cross-body strap. I would never use such a contraption as I just don't like the idea of a loaded gun muzzle pointed toward my head.

Kind of looks like part of a 1970's TV police detectives shoulder rig.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
