It is with sadness and regret that I must inform you of the passing of founding board member Darryl Boyd this past Sunday night. Darryls son Adam has informed me that his father passed peacefully and without pain after suffering a sudden heart attack. Darryl was instrumental in acquiring this board from Bob Wheeler in 2011, and had worked tirelessly to keep things going ever since. Darryl was a lifetime military surplus arms collector with extensive knowledge of the subject, we have often been treated to glimpses of his collection as he shared it with us here on the board. He always stood ready to step in and assist other collectors when they had questions. The board was his baby, and he worked endless hours to keep things going for all of us to enjoy, and to have the forum knowledge base available to collectors to enhance the hobby. To say that he will be missed is an understatement. Thank you, and please keep Darryl in your thoughts and prayers as you enjoy the hobby that he loved.

WTF....!

My condolences to his family. We lost a truly special person, just won't be the same around here without him. I'll miss his witty remarks, and glimpses of his collection on here.

Always been thankful for the folks that keep this site up and running.

He responded to my post on my recent hospitalization due to AFib, with his own AFib experiences. Just hard to imagine him being here one minute and not the next.

God speed.....

To say I'm in shock is an understatement. Darryl was the main reason we have this forum, keeping it running all these years. I'm still processing this but I can't believe it.

I just saw this. So hard to read, I remember back when he aquired the Board way back when. I know he put tons of hours into this so we all could enjoy it. Many thanks to him, JYD and the Admins that keep it running to this day.

It’ll soon be 2 months! Time keeps ticking away. It won’t slow down for any of us and I believe Darryl would want us to make the best of every day. I sure miss his simple wisdom when it comes to collecting and preserving antique and vintage military arms. The listings are full of good advice that he gave on so many forum topics. Older posts by forum member Dolk was also Darryl.
