98 degrees out, but amazingly low humidity for a change. Humidity is like 31%! It is like desert heat. At least I won't need to mow for a while, the grass is dying. In June, we normally get about 8" of rain, it averages raining every other day (according to the weather service) but we can't buy a thunder-storm this month. July will probably bring monsoons to make up for June. I am hoping that Mike gets a hurricane because that would put me on the "wet side" of the storm.
Just teasing Mike.

Yeap weird with the low humidity, it shows 48% right now, with a real temperature of 96°. Then throw in the heat index warning and they say it feels like 108°. My ass is hiding inside, in the dark, in the AC and one article of clothing away from having my very own OnlyFans channel.SA1911a1 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 2:25 pm 98 degrees out, but amazingly low humidity for a change. I don't want any storms my way. Want a few years in the house without having to deal with major repairs again.

We’re just getting our first monsoon rain of the year. Got between 1 and 2 inches and a possibility of minor flooding in certain areas.
Re: It is 5:15. Do you know where your heat-stroke is?
One or two inches in an hour we consider a drizzle. ;) Back in the day, when sizing the drainage for large flat roof buildings, we used as a sizing minimum 11" per hour as a code requirement. Now that is a heavy rain even for Florida. I could use a couple of inches per day for a few days to try to get things caught up. I am afraid that if my swamp dries up, it will expose things that I have been trying to keep secret for years. ;)awalker1829 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 3:10 pm We’re just getting our first monsoon rain of the year. 91, or 92 for us today with very high humidity, I parked my ass in the AC and stayed there.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I spent a late winter in Illinois also Steve. Many years after you though. It was Feb-Apr 1986, we left Lackland AFB, Texas it was in the 90s, landed at Campaign, Illinois it was damn near a blizzard. Highs in the low 30s and lows in the single digits.
Spent 7 glorious weeks at Chanute AFB, 6 weeks for school and 1 week in and out processing.

I did everything I needed to do outside before 8am, now I am monitoring the AC, 90 something outside, I don't even want to know.

We are flirting with the magic 100 F. It probably won't quite make it as we are getting a little cloud cover.

100 is manageable out here. 105+ is when it starts to get bad out here. Phoenix got up to 115 last week. I’ll be eating takeout to avoid cooking in the kitchen with the air conditioning out.

Oh Hell, this is the time of the year we do takeout, or do salads and sandwiches etc. AC or not it's too damn hot to hang out over stove and cook.awalker1829 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2024 2:07 pm 100 is manageable out here. 105+ is when it starts to get bad out here. It’s not so dry right now. Monsoons have just started up and it’s pretty muggy now.Junk Yard Dog wrote: ↑Sun Jun 23, 2024 3:04 pmA dry heat? Warm enough today for you Steve? Shows us in Bay County being 112° with the heat index.SA1911a1 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 2:25 pm 98 degrees out, but amazingly low humidity for a change. The actual temp hit 100 again yesterday at about 4:00. The humidity was very high, I drove the 400 yards to the mailbox... It is hot...
We had thunderstorms with close lightning yesterday and the day before, but not a drop of rain out of them Dry as a popcorn fart and hotter than the hinges on the gates of Hell.

112? I wouldn't need the stove to cook my bacon and eggs, just put the pan outside and save on the electric.

I'm telling you throw some bacon strips along and eggs on the hood of the truck and you'll have a meal in no time.Junk Yard Dog wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 6:47 pm 112? I wouldn't need the stove to cook my bacon and eggs, just put the pan outside and save on the electric.![]()
We are losing about 3 inches of water every two days from the Koi pond, and water only lasts a few hours in the bird bath before it evaporates. Our male Malamute walks off the patio, cocks his leg as soon as his feet hits the grass then comes right back into the AC. Our female Husky is weird, she lays on a black mat in the sun, sunning herself and sleeping. I have to force her ass back into the house. I walked around 100 feet round trip to the mailbox and had to change shirts as I was soaked in sweat.
I'm done with Summer already.....Too damn hot to go to the range, too damn hot to be outside period, too damn hot for just about everything.

This would be why all the old people who's blood got thin with age move to Florida. Then they never leave the AC.

We finally got a small break. We got a good thunderstorm yesterday, but we are way behind for the month. After the rain stopped the temp dropped below 80 degrees and I thought I needed to get a jacket.
