Mini Mauser Mouser

Post by SA1911a1 »

Lets hear you say that after a couple of drinks, Mike!

This model 1910 Mauser was made in '25 or '26 if my notes are to be believed. I don't recall how I dated it. It is a fun little handgun to shoot. The original magazine wouldn't feed well, but a couple of new mags fixed that. I was looking on Wiki this morning and it is said that both the Whermacht and the Kreigsmarine purchased this type pistol, though for the life of me I can't figure out why unless that is all the artillery that the Germans were allowed after the Treary of Versailles . This one was most certainly an export model because the word "Germany" is stamped on the frame.

I know that I am getting old because, though I know that I got this one within the last decade, I can not remember where it came from, but it was probably a cheap pawn shop find. The holster may be period correct, but it is nothing like the military holsters. I spend two hours trying to resize another couple of photos until I gave up... The photo posted was resized, but no matter what I do the others revert back to their 1.4 MB size. C'est la Guerre.

I thought this was going to be a post about your new kitten named Mauser the mouser. That piece looks familiar, like maybe I have one stashed someplace, small enough that it could be in the junk drawer and get overlooked for years. I have to look around.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Jim, it should look very familiar to you. I have been systematically raiding your place but only taking the stuff that I don't think you will miss. ;)

Plan worked because I apparently didn't miss it, excuse me while I go fire the security staff.

Damnit Steve, you weren't supposed to say anything. Now how in the hell are we going to do another "Midnight procurement run" without be caught or worse shot?

You've been into the "Blabber mouth" again aka "Moonshine for our Northern neighbors" haven't you!

We won't shoot right away, got to question you first, that could take several days. That reminds me, I forgot to charge up the 24v booster pack, and change out the fuel tank on the blow torch.

Bad thing is I know I have a small German pistol someplace, captured off a German town mayor or something like that and I have no idea what I did with it or what kind it is. Not a PPK, that much I do recall. I have the capture papers with it.

Hmm sounds like an interesting pistol, would love to see more about it. Guess you need to hunt it down.
