My best friend's widow asked me over to her house after work yesterday. Bob has been gone for 12 years now and she wants to sell off most of his guns and she asked me to have a look and give her an idea on fair-market values. I knew he had an old Mauser, but he never took it to the range or camping, so I never really had a good look at it until yesterday and did not know it was a Gewehr 98. WOW! Trying to get her to let me bring this one home to clean it up a bit and go over it with a fine tooth comb, but all the numbers I've seen so far match, the rifling is still strong looking with only some very light frosting in the bore. The action is incredibly smooth. Whatcha think?

WOW, a DWM Gewehr 98. You couldn't ask for a more iconic rifle than that one. That would be a wonderful piece to add to any WWI weapons collection.
