Ukranian civilian sales mosin
I recently picked up a Mosin the i believe was made for civilian sales. The rear sight is pinned at 250m, an ak style muzzle brake was added and what I believe to be an ak style side scope rail. The bolt was also bent, зроблено з україни (made in Ukraine) and crosshairs are marked on the side of the magazine.
Classic Firearms sold these, Does anyone know how many got imported?

I haven't heard of these before. Classic has been known to make stuff up themselves like back when they were chrome plating Mosins.

These were among the last Mosin's exported from Ukraine into the U.S. in around 2016 or so. The shipment consisted of Mosin's previously modified for sale to Ukrainian citizens but was diverted to the U.S. instead. Most were standard M91/30's with the rear sight pinned at 250 meters to comply with some nonsensical Ukrainian gun control law but others also had the muzzle break, bent bolt and side rail scope mount you describe. I can't help you on the numbers imported though, importers don't usually share that kind of info. They did sell out quickly though, they dried up in just a couple months as I recall.stonewallskullworks wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 8:44 am I recently picked up a Mosin the i believe was made for civilian sales. Learn something new everyday, did a internet search on them to learn more. It appears that they had the barrel shorten also, to prevent installation of the bayonet.
They were modified for civilian sales in Ukraine, and for some reason a batch of them ended up being exported to North America (Canada and US).

I would have blamed it on Bubba, but a Ukranian Bubba is still a Bubba, shame they had to alter them. I wonder how many of them are being employed against the Russians today.

I wouldnt call it a Bubba when it was done by the government, to me that would be no different than calling any Finnish alteration a Finnish BubbaJunk Yard Dog wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 1:46 am I would have blamed it on Bubba, but a Ukranian Bubba is still a Bubba, shame they had to alter them. Nah, just like Mitchell's Mausers or the new James River Armory K98 Bubba's it doesn't matter if it's a private company or a state ran company it's still a Bubba!!!stonewallskullworks wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 2:50 amI wouldnt call it a Bubba when it was done by the government, to me that would be no different than calling any Finnish alteration a Finnish BubbaJunk Yard Dog wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 1:46 am I would have blamed it on Bubba, but a Ukranian Bubba is still a Bubba, shame they had to alter them. I would not be surprised if they built these out of the spare parts that must have been left over from decades of refurbishing rifles by the Soviets.
