Finnish M91/24 Mystery Markings
Hi there, I have an M91/24 BS barreled rifle. For quite while I have wondered about some of the markings, and wondered if anyone could shed any light on if possible please ?
German BS barrel, good rifling but counterbored. Bore sluggs correct for .308 diameter bullet.
Tang (I believe is a Tula, but can only see partial number (5?) , faint number (7?) then small r. Then the hammer itself.

^ On top of the tang is a W and then a C in a circle (have inverted colors to highlight more). Then on the rear receiver side there is a B then an III , there is the same III on the rear sight. Not too much to go on , but those markings have had me stumped for years !!

Nice rifle. About all I can tell you is it's a Tula receiver. Hopefully someone can help more.

Thanks, there are a mixture of West German and brit (modern) proofs on the barrel. So this has travelled.

M24 Lotta rifle with heavy German barrel. These are a treat, I know because I have had mine over 30 years now. I hope you took very careful note of any shims that were under the action around the action screws when you took that apart, and you put them back exactly where you found them.

Thanks, there were no shims. Looking at other Tula receivers in an attempt to try and gauge the year. The 5 on top left may indicate 95, or 05 i guess.

Hi again, messed around with the picture and have managed to enhance slightly.
So looks like a 57r , the Tula hammer (although has some damage or slight overstamp) looks like is in the bag
Assuming a 57r would not make any sense would it ?

Looking at some number comparisons the 5 could be a 3. ... I dunno !
Is there anything else that I can look at to date the receiver ?
