Hey, Mike! That storm has a bead on you!

Post by SA1911a1 »

The one forming up just off the Yucatan. We should know a lot more by Monday. I am going to service my generators tomorrow...

I am dreading what one of those storms is going to do coming across that hot Gulf of Mexico; it could make for a dozy.

Tell me, we're watching it closely. I cursed myself by thinking its been a quiet season then 4 or 5 disturbances in row appeared off of Africa!

Keeping my fingers crossed, would like to enjoy the house a few more years before it needs repairs again. Only been back in the house 13 months now.

Looks like it headed your way more than ours. Looks like the Big Bend will get it, IF it stays on the predicted path. But like you said the Gulf will make that decision.....

Steve, yall stay safe and check in with me when you can. Looks like she'll give you more problems than we'll get.

Storm has taken a little jog to the West, looks like Steve will be in the Western edge of the storm and get Hurricane strength winds. We, on the hand, are far enough West that we'll get Tropical Storm strength winds.

That's if it keeps on its current path, and doesn't start to jog to the West even more.

This is the one thing I don’t miss about living in the southeast. Y’all stay dry and safe!

Currently 1 MPH under a Cat 3 storm and they're predicting it to make Cat 4 status by the time it makes landfall. Steve will see a lot of rain and winds in his area. Not 100% sure but it looks like the eye will pass just East of him, which means he'll be in the winds for the entire storm. He'll have worse weather than he did when Hurricane Michael (Cat 5) roared through in 2018.

We'll get 20-30 MPH or so winds in our area, and rain. We're predicted to get rain and thunderstorms through Saturday. Keeping an eye on it, but I believe it's going to pretty much keep on it current track.

Good luck with all that, up here I might see some rain today, high in the mid 70's with possibly a slight breeze.

Sent Steve a text to his phone at 1242, and haven't heard back from him as of yet.

He might be part of the Tallahassee crowd that is out of power. If so he probably was more important priorities at hand than playing with his phone.

I had no problems with the storm. I didn't respond to the text because I rarely use my phone. It was a non-event here. I got less than 3/4" inches of rain, and almost no wind. A few little gusts this morning, but nothing worse than our regular thunder storms. My brother, 30 miles East said he had about four hours of winds in the 40 MPH range but it just made a mess in his yard. NO damage.

This must be a horrible disappointment for you, what with all the preparation and expectations of disaster and all you get is a fizzle. Weatherman, how do I get one of these high pay jobs where I can be wrong most of the time and still get paid?

Good to see yall fared well, figured it would have been worse for yall.

My son and his family is up in Bluffton, SC and he said its been uneventful for them. We just had thunderstorms and I got pushed out of bed by both dogs. We got two major downpours today, but not much else.

Low 70's with a nice breeze and lower humidity, a touch of fall that will be all fucked up come Monday when we get a string of 90+ days thanks to this storm.

Just remember what can happen this winter when we send the Canadian storms and cold, cold, cold weather down your way
