The long and short of it

Post by Cliff »

Here is a picture of a couple of my old revolvers. One is a Dan Wesson Large Frame. It's a 44 mag with a 10in barrel. The bottom one is a "Bad Leroy Brown". It's a 32 s&w long that is original except for the pearl grips. Quite a difference in your hand.

 I carried a 32 like that in my front pocket for a couple of years. That big boys a handful, accurate I bet.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

I recently got shed of my .44 mag. (A S&W 69) It was a "lightweight" version, not meant for an old man to shoot...

I have an ameriacan buldog like that. I got it from my Father who always had it in his sock drawer. When he passed, I got it. The timing was terrible and if you cocked it, you had to roll the cylinder just a little for it to "lock". I had it repaired and it cost me almost as much as the piece was worth. But, it was my Fathers and my Mom said he had that just after the war (WWII). So, it is in my sock drawer not loaded now. Just seemed ....right.

Nice 44. Those usually are too much for me to handle! :chuckles:

I find the smaller cal. easier to deal with.

But, that is a beautiful pistol!

My contribution to the .32 long category; Model 1903, built in '27, about the same time that Jim made his first million. I don't even recall how I came by this one, but it has no family history. A few years ago, these types of pistols were sold at every mom and pop gun shop for chump change.
