Local annual gun show.
Today we went to the only local annual gun show $10 for all three days, made it for two. I know we don't have a forum for them here, but they are old milsurp guns. As we walked in one of the first tables had a nice Krag-Jorgensen 30-40. If I was still working for my former employer, that vendor would have collected my profit sharing for the past 6 months and I would have taken her home. Since I am now retired and on very limited income I only got to handle it a little. I have seen pics and followed conversations about them but today I got to handle one. Really nice gun.
Curious enough to take it apart;

Check the board index for the collectable military firearms forum, that is the place for rifles like the Krag, or Mauser and so on. Krags can get expensive, they were already pricy when I bought mine over 30 years ago.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

being short of $$$ at a gun show is a common experience.....
did you take a picture or two..?
always grab the guys business card....he might find something he wants and would deal down a bit with you to get his dream....
