Harvesting souls. The numbers that count and the ones witnessed by others. Think how many more went unwitnessed.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

There were many Russian soldiers that stayed in that frozen column in '39 that never saw a Finnish soldier. The Finns were in a camouflage shooting gallery of sorts, cold as blue hell and getting shot back at, bombed, but in their element. Probably the highest sniper kill ratio of any war.

I got shot at from about 3/4 mi. away. The round hit a dirt bank about 3 ft. over our heads. The same guy shot/ wounded two other people the same way at other times. He did serve some time for it. A distinguished WW2 vet that never could stop shooting people, add Alcohol and pills and you get a mean ol son o bitch that might kill you. One of the men he shot in the leg found him at a juke joint in town and beat him nearly to death, him with a cast still on his leg from being shot. I think the old basturd died in the State pen.
