Post by S12A »

G'day forum members,

I just joined today, I have been reading the Knowledge Base articles and very much appreciated the info within, they helped me validate this purchase.

“Freedom is the right to tell people what they do not want to hear.” George Orwell, English novelist, essayist, and critic, 1903-1950

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Australian, eh? Does that mean that you live in the Alps and wear Lederhosen? (Just teasing of course)
That is a nice rifle, and a fine entry into Mosin Madness. Congrats!

I’ll post more photos of the markings later, but for now here is 2 from my first outing on the weekend using highland FMJ’s.

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

Good day at the range today.
Got my zero sorted, screws line up with the punch marks and just needed one hash mark right on the windage turret so basically nothing.
Using 180 FMJs from Sellier and Bellot, drop at 200 and 300m matched the turret BDC. I love this rifle!

With snipers, it is sometimes a coin flip.
I think a lot of the accuracy was in the person using them. Some could make allowances for the rifles they were issued.
