Yugoslavian 9MM
Yugoslavian 9MM
My son gifted me this pistol for Father's day. According to what I read on the web, and we know that that is always right, back around 2012 about a thousand of these were imported. Zastava CZ 99;DA/SA, aluminum alloy frame, forged slide, 15 round, ambidextrous controls, hammer drop safety, loaded chamber indicator, chromed barrel, and with a slight alteration to the mags, it uses Beretta 92 magazines. These were former Yugo military and police guns and the finish shows a lot carrying, but the internals don't show a lot of wear. The importer understood his job, and put the import marks on the barrel, out of sight.
The pistol feels like a SIG in the hand, a little thick in the grip, but I was able to reach all of the controls without breaking my grip. The SA trigger must break around three to four pounds. I aired it out on Sunday and Monday and if functioned flawlessly. I is a nice companion to my Zastava CZ 70.

Nice gun and a nice son.
Re: Yugoslavian 9MM
He is a good man, and my best friend. He is leaving the home place for Tennessee next month and I am going to miss him. He is leaving his collection here for a while until he gets the feel for the place and I am worried that it will have the house tilting on its foundation. ;)

Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.

He is buying some land from me, we worked out a deal that let him skip a few payments for the SKS. He got a good deal, believe me. ;)steelbuttplate wrote: ↑Fri Jul 08, 2022 6:09 pmHe's a real good one considering you just took his SKS away from him on his birthdaySA1911a1 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 7:48 amHe is a good man, and my best friend. If he's waiting to figure out how firearms friendly it is there he shouldn't worry. Tennessee is a permitless carry state for one and is very friendly to the firearms industry and the 2nd Amendment. I know one AR OE Parts manufacturer, Dave Cannon of Xtreme Precision moved from Chatsworth, CA to Gallatin, TN and Dave loves it there.SA1911a1 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 21, 2022 7:48 amHe is a good man, and my best friend. He is not concerned about the legality of his collection, but the security of it. He has some serious money in his collectible firearms and wants to get a feel for the area before taking them with him. Right now, they are in a locked "job box" in my bedroom, under the protection of daddy's firearms and a dog that never sleeps. It is the safest place between here and Ft. Knox. To my knowledge, he took three firearms with him. Old Reliable, an AK and some kind of shotgun. He may have taken another one or two, I didn't ask.WeldonHunter wrote: ↑Sun Jul 10, 2022 6:52 amIf he's waiting to figure out how firearms friendly it is there he shouldn't worry. Old Reliable, is what we both called my Springfield 1911 that I bought in '93. It is one of those guns that can never seem to do any wrong. I can not remember a failure to fire, eject or load with that pistol. I swore that I would be buried with it. One day, a couple of years ago, we were at the range, and after he shot it, and on the spur of the moment, I told him to keep it in his holster, that it was now his. He told me that he couldn't take it, and I replied that I be damned if that was so. I didn't want him to have to wait until I died to get it. He has carried it every day since. It became a family heirloom in just two generations.

Love that Steve, Yeah let him enjoy it with you while you're still around. I wasn't sure what you meant about him getting a feel for the place. I suspect like most places there's good areas and bad ones. I also know a photographer, Oleg Volk, who works in the industry that moved there a few years ago and he loves where he is. Hell I'm way out in the sticks of Louisiana and managed to be robbed but it was by a so called friend who went back on drugs. He didn't get any guns just some ammo and a few magazines. He's in jail now and hopefully for a long time. I have two Liberty Colonial 50s now and all the firearms in those. When you said you were worried about the house titling on the foundation I get that. My house is on pier blocks and I had to pick specific areas to put the safes because they weigh 1024lbs each empty. So far so good and I don't worry half as much when I leave to go somewhere.SA1911a1 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 10, 2022 8:22 amHe is not concerned about the legality of his collection, but the security of it.
