Been reading a book about the SOG Studies and Observation Group. I thought it sounded like guys with transits and a steel tape and a camera. Holy cow not even close. Total bad asses doing the most incredibly dangerous jobs. The most secret and elite force in the War. Amazing what those guys did in Laos and Cambodia. Yes kids we had forces in those locations even though we were told no we don't have forces there......
Not done yet a little past half and my mind is blown. My hat's always been off to everyone that served anywhere anytime but these dudes are

Knew one of them once, didn't talk much about what he did, just who he had been and that he did his job. When I knew him he was a truck driver who sometimes hauled loads for us. I was told his truck went off a ferry off the Washington state coast, maybe Oregon, and he was in the sleeper at the time. Tough man, even 20+ years after his service he was still a man best not fucked with.
Leave it as it is. The ages have been at work on it and man can only mar it.
Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft.

For sure not to be messed with! The skillset of those guys was amazing. Communications, demolition, sharpshooters, camouflage experts, recon, and many more. I'm working on his second SOG book now, it's as amazing as the first. The things they did and places they went...... just . They went to Laos and Cambodia on a regular basis all the while as Washington DC denied it and no we won't go there. All B-52s were dumping ton after ton of bombs in those locations that we weren't in.
